Expert Opinions and Evaluations
Sten Berglund has been a professor in his own right since 1984 and took an active part in
academic life already in the 1970s. He has successfully served as adviser of a large number of
doctoral students in Sweden and Finland and is frequently called upon to serve on committees
screening candidates for research assistantships, lectureships and professorships. He has also
been engaged as an expert within the fields of political science, public administration and
political communication by the Finnish Academy, Helsinki, the Social Science Research
Council and the Baltic Sea Foundation, the two latter in Stockholm, and occasionally also by
universities other than his own..
