Sarah “Mac” Mackenzie survey the damage that has occurred to the USS Monroe. Only
a few days prior, the USS Monroe was participating in a NATO Transit exercise in which eight
United States and Italian ships were seeking four Turk ships that were hiding. During the
training mission, the USS Monroe located a Turk ship, closed range and fired at it. Just after
they fired, the Turk ship turned sharply in their direction. Although the Monroe tried to steer
clear, it was too late and the two ships collided. Seven men died as a result of the collision
and Harm and Mac are sent to find out exactly what went wrong.
