Miscanthus sinensis<br />

Maiden Grass<br />

Requires a loc<strong>at</strong>ion in the landscape th<strong>at</strong> receives<br />

full sun, but will toler<strong>at</strong>e some shade. Many<br />

people prefer to cut the grass back to the ground in<br />

the spring so new green growth is not mixed with<br />

last years dried brown foliage.<br />

Gold Bar<br />

Gold Bar forms an eye-c<strong>at</strong>ching clump of green<br />

leaves th<strong>at</strong> are horizontally banded in creamy<br />

yellow from the base of the plant to the tips of the<br />

leaves. There's nearly as much yellow as there is<br />

green! Adding to its appeal, this grass is strictly<br />

upright and compact in habit, so there's no need to<br />

stake or tie it. In mid-fall, showy burgundy<br />

inflorescences appear just above the foliage. This<br />

grass is a very slow grower, reaching an ultim<strong>at</strong>e<br />
