the spring so new green growth is not mixed with<br />

leaves th<strong>at</strong> are horizontally banded in creamy<br />
yellow from the base of the plant to the tips of the<br />
leaves. There's nearly as much yellow as there is<br />
green! Adding to its appeal, this grass is strictly<br />
upright and compact in habit, so there's no need to<br />
stake or tie it. In mid-fall, showy burgundy<br />
inflorescences appear just above the foliage. This<br />
grass is a very slow grower, reaching an ultim<strong>at</strong>e<br />
