NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF
CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALISTS
Clinical Nurse Specialist:
Your Clinical Innovation Expert
Annual Conference
March 10-12, 2011
Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel, Baltimore, MD

Innovation is the watchword for the 2011 conference. The conference will highlight novel approaches to
CNS practice within the three spheres of influence: the client sphere (individual, family, community),
the nursing sphere (nurses, nursing practice), and the organization/system sphere.
Schedule Highlights
Pre-Conference Sessions:
Pre-Conference Registration Begins on Wednesday, March 9 at 7:30 am
Maximize Your Member Benefit: Bring a World of Evidence to the Bedside with JBI Connect+, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
In this preconference you will learn how to use all of the JBI Connect+ resources and tools. All members of NACNS are also members of the
Joanna Briggs Institute. Maximize this member benefit by learning how to search all of the evidence sources and use tools that will help you
implement evidence and change practice.
Writing for Publication, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The Writing for Publication workshop will provide knowledge about the publishing process, formatting expectations of publishers, and writing
skills. Workshop information will assist authors, especially novice or those with limited peer-reviewed journal publication experience, in choosing
the best journal, following rules of writing, and submitting a manuscript to a journal. Further, participants will have time to practice skills
with seasoned authors who are also journal reviewers and editors. If you have a partially or fully written manuscript that you would like presenters
to review during the practice session, bring it with you for discussion!
CNS: Your Clinical Innovation Expert
Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs) work to move clinical practice forward by leveraging technological advances, incorporating
