GT1000 FULL TURBINE KIT for R35 GT-R R35(GT-R) 

HKS is challenging for the high performance concept of HKS R35 GT 

series. And we have set the goal of 1000 horse power with GT1000! For the 

extream power and performance, the GT800 design of "symmetrical layout" 

has succeeded to the new GT1000.

●GT1000 has succeeded ideal design of "symmetrical layout" of GT800. 

And HKS has tuned-up and newly designed in all little detail for precision, 

strength and heat-persistence. The new GT1000 provides effective boost 

control and prevents from exhaust loss. 

●For effective intake and exhaust flow, HKS has newly redesigned original 

suction pipe and chamber pipe for the new GT1000. 

●Our proven technology "heat-resistence cast" was employed in exhaust 

manifold which provides high resistance in the heat and vibration. 

●GT Ⅱ is employed for wastegate of GT1000 which is very small and light 

and still has secure boost control.

CAPACITY UPGRADE KIT for R35 GT-R R35(GT-R) 

HKS has developed upgrade kit for R35 GT-R for some more power! People who 

are not satisfied with 800+ and want more power on R35, this is the kit you need. 

We have made it for a longer stroke to gain on the lower RPM for the big turbine. 

So you can have absolute power even on the normal RPM. This high-end, made in 

Japan products of piston, conrod and crankshaft are made by billet method. 

Features 

◆Piston Kit 

・HKS were insistent on forging, we employed billet method from forged bar material. 

・ We have employed special truss shape with our test and strength analysis for a extreme power. 

・The perfect shape of very short height low friction type gives light weight and strength. They 

are 80g lighter compared to the stock and STEP1/STEP2 piston. 

◆Connecting rod 

・Being a longer stroke, we have developed original conrod. For modification work of engine side is needed only 

at the block oil return. 

◆Crankshaft stroke 

・Billet method form forged bar material. 

・HKS special shape that came from our profound racing experience analysis on V6 balance. 

・For better friction we have employed special edge for counter weight. 

・We have designed counter weight for the perfect shape for a perfect balance! 

・Not to decrease the strength of the block which relate directly to the engine's performance, HKS has 

employed stock bore size that does not need liner process. 

・Also we could cut the cost by not having liner work and block shaving of upper surface. 

・This kit is for upgrade from 800+. Surge tank, injector kit, intercooler and etc. are offered separately for a 

total tuning solution.

INTERCOOLER KIT for R35 GT-R 

The intercooler is very important for forced induction tuning 

and HKS has developed new big type for GT1000 full turbine kit. 

Features

●We have designed the intercooler for best balance of leftright 

bank cooling and pipe layout for the same as vertical 

flow stock design. The core front surface is maximum 

size as stock type layout. And the thickness of core is 

100mm(stock=65mm) which provides less air flow pressure 

loss for the 1000ps. 

●We have designed the intercooler layout design to be 

installed with the stock air guide (need some work). The air 

came in from the open bumper is all flowed into the core for 

the maximum cooling efficiency. 

◆Precaution for installation 

・Need separate Intercooler piping kit(13002- 

AN003) for installation. 

・Need to do the radiator air guide and 

intercooler air guide modification. 

・Use hand nutter for installation work. 

・Installation time will be about 1 to 2 days.

It's always challenge to acquire both quietness and high output 

for automobile. HKS SUPER TURBO MUFFLER gives both of 

these things by incising inner slit in the tip and straight design 

with silencer. And to comply for turbo upgraded for R35 GT- 

R, we have developed changeover valve system muffler. So 

depending on the exhaust flow, the flow channel can be changed 

to give more power and cool exhaust sound.

Open the valve and widen 

the exhaust area 

2 valves in front and 2 valves in the back operated by 

electric motor. The valves are connected to the motor 

with cables and special unit controls the motor. 

In the automatic mode, the valves are opened or closed 

by the RPM or automobile speed. For low RPM(Stage 

1), all the valves are closed which provides quiet sound. 

For mid RPM(Stage 2), only the back valves are open 

for both power and quietness is provided. And finally for 

high RPM(Stage 3), all the valves are open for the most 

power. Also the manual mode let you open all the valves.

INTERCOOLER KIT(Ductless)for GT-R R35 

Intercooler kit without air duct is available for NISSAN GT-R R35. 

Best for light-tuned vehicles and reasonable tuning. 

Features ◆Cooling Performance 

◆Lightweight 

Cooling performance of the stock intercooler is good enough for the stock engine; however, it is not 

enough when the boost pressure is increased to 120kPa (GT570 kit or GT600 kit). With the stock 

intercooler, it cannot prevent sharp rise of the temperature at the turbo outlet. (These kits cause the 

airflow of the turbine to the upper limit so the stock I/C core capacity is insufficient.) To improve 

cooling performance, core's capacity must be increased; however, our in-house test result showed 

major performance improvement would not be seen even if the core size was little larger. 

HKS provides the intercooler kit with two thin and larger cores (400x 260x65) that allow significant 

cooling performance achievement. 

Weight of the intercooler is reduced, and overhung weight can be reduced as well.(Stock: 9.6kg / HKS: 8.0kg) 

◆Pressure Loss 

Thinner cores may raises concerns of increase of pressure loss; however, the unique inner fin design can 

minimize the pressure loss increase. 

◆Water Temperature Maintenance 

Enlarging the core size may interrupt air flow to the radiator that may also increase water temperature. 

HKS intercooler's thin core can increase air flow speed to the radiator. When in-house tests were 

conducted in Sendai Highland and Fuji International Speedway by a professional racing driver, the test 

result showed that the water temperature was raised as same as the stock.

Both types are endurable against high engine output. Stopper structure of the bore seal is separated type 

so it prevents leakage even under high gas-pressure at high engine output.) 

◆Compression Ratio for an NA engine is increased! 

The t0.5 type (SC installable) for an NA engine was designed to increase the compression ratio compared to a stock gasket 

as well as seal durability. Also, it is thinner than a stock. It is the best to use for one make race with an NA engine. 

Compression ratio of the gasket for an NA engine is ε12.6. Its thickness is t0.5. (Stock compression ratio is ε12.5 and 

thickness is t0.6.) 

◆600ps D1 spec is reproduced for a supercharged engine! 

The t0.7 type (for an engine equipped with a large SC) utilizes a stopper higher than the stock gasket to provide higher 

bore seal durability. It is designed to be endurable against 600ps engine power. Compression ratio was reduced only 

t0.7 so high heat efficiency can be maintained. 

Compression ratio of the gasket for a supercharged engine is ε12.4. Its thickness is t0.7. (Stock compression ratio is ε 

12.5 and thickness is t0.6.) 

◆Contact surface pressure is improved! 

Special coating was applied on the head side and 

cylinder side to improve sealing performance when 

tightening the bolts. 

◆Bore seal pressure was confirmed 

in figures. 

(See the diagram below.) 

*The oil temperature of a vehicle without the 

oil cooler reached 130℃ in the fifth minute; 

the vehicle had to be stopped to cool the 

oil temperature down.

Features 

Advantages 

●VAC Type CFT is a device for Toyota 86 and Subaru 

BRZ to eliminate the vehicle's factory speed limiter. 

●VAC is equipped with the optional speed signal 

output function.. 

●Actual speed can be indicated even it is beyond the 

speed limit. 

Note) OB-LINK (Carscope) shows the speed clipped by 

the VAC. 

●As it is an add-on device, even if data of stock ECU 

is reflashed, the VAC Type CFT functions without any 

problem. 

●A "coupler-on" harness is included so no modification 

of the stock ECU harness is required. 

●Speed can be indicated up to 350km/h when 

connecting to Circuit Attack Counter, Turbo Timer, or 

CAMP2. (Car speed pulse "4")

About the exclusion of Super Fire Racing plug to some BMW vehicles 

On the web, the Super Fire Racing M-XL series are compliant 

for BMW but the plug hole for engine side is very small and 

can't install with general plug wrench and thus not compliant. 

However plug has no problem with its function so with 

the thin-walled modification for the plug wrench could be 

installed.

2012 GRAN TURISMO 

D1 GRAND PRIX 

Round 3 in AUTOPOLIS 

Report 

The "HKS RACING PERFORMER 86" debuted at SUZUKA 

circuit and we were able to leave a good result which is the fifth 

place. However, the machine was still under development and 

we challenged at high speed course of Autopolis as similar to 

the SUZUKA, with significant brush up of weight reduction and 

controlling system. 

We were qualified for exemption and the attack was from the final round (single free-running). The first 

run, Taniguchi entered the corner at high speed which was great, but when he made the turn, the angle was 

a little deeper that he made an half-spin. And if he doesn’t make the second run right he will be out of the 

tournament. So the second run Taniguchi slightly reduced speed to keep the balance which was not really an 

aggressive drive and so he got into ninth place and advanced tournament. 

The road surface condition changed every minute for the tournament. The first round became a battle with 

Suenaga (N) for a dry condition. HKS 86 has already set for rain but Taniguchi drifted awesome on both first 

and second run and become the best 8. 

After this race the weather suddenly changed to a heavy rain. So Taniguchi with high control and high 

accuracy driving skill and the wet compliant suspension setting helped him drive two runs without mistake, 

won over his opponent and advanced to the best 4. 

Around this time the weather got so bad, there were winds and thunderstorm. So after a brief intermission, 

the race restarted with unpredictable road condition. Even with Taniguchi’s skill, he couldn’t control the 

machine in such a weather and spun off and let Kubo defeat him. 

For 3rd place match, Taniguchi and his opponent Sakuma drifted without a mistake. And for rematch 

Taniguchi got slightly higher score to beat Sakuma. So the final result of D1 Autopolis emerged into 3rd place 

in overall ranking point. Become highest rank not just among other 86s but all the four-cylinder machines! 

Next match is on August 25th (Sat.) and 26th (Sun.) at Ebisu Circuit (Fukushima-ken). 

It will be 4th and 5th double header. Please keep up with us!
