Principal’s Message
Dear Parents,
As we spring ahead, I am already concerned about student
focus and safety. With spring sports and activities
upon us it is only natural to relish free time outdoors and
away from adult supervision. Although this is a healthy
and appropriate response to longer days and warmer
weather it does not diminish the need to continue ones
hard work in school or obligation to consider the consequences
of reckless behavior and choice of friends. I
know that along with you, the teachers, coaches and advisors
often try to instill this vision of responsible behavior.
Please spend time in the near future with your child(ren)
discussing the excitement and opportunity of this time of
year along with the need to remain steadfast in their studies
and responsibilities all the while being vigilant toward
safety and good decision making. Remember that,
“Champions Champions don't become champions when
they win the event. They become champions
in the hours, weeks, and months preparing
for the event." (Boston Boston College, Athletic DepartDepartment) Thank you for all of your support.
Sincerely,
John W. Barile
Foran Raises $1200 for Local Food Banks
"Empty Bowls" is a fundraising project that began many years ago by an artist who
wanted to raise awareness and money for starving children in under privileged
countries. The premise was to have artists create ceramic bowls for donation and
use the bowls for a soup dinner to fundraise for a good cause. Over the past several
years, JA Foran’s Interact Club has organized and executed a local version of
Empty Bowls‖. Art Students, Interact Club members, Adult Education Pottery
students, and Faculty came to volunteer their time and talents to make bowls and
food to donate for the soup dinner. Patrons who purchased a ticket were able to
enjoy a dinner inspired by the experience of what it is like to be a patron at a soup
kitchen, experience the wonderful talents of our Music students, and got to keep a
handmade ceramic bowl. We had over 100 patrons this year and JAF’s Interact
Club raised over $1200 for the Milford Food Bank and Beth el Shelter.
