• Open swim/skate. Open swim/skate times<br />
are available at the Sportsplex. Cost is $2.50<br />
($3 for out-of-county residents) for children<br />
under 17; $3 for adults ($3.50 for out-ofcounty<br />
residents), $2 for seniors ($2.50 for outof-county<br />
residents); $8.50 per family ($10 for<br />
out-of-county residents); and skate rental is $3.<br />

• Soccer. The Gaylord Soccer League,<br />
affiliated with the Michigan State Youth<br />
Soccer Association, organizes soccer for ages<br />
5 through high school. Games are held at the<br />
Alpine Soccer Complex on Ohio Street during<br />
the fall season from August through October.<br />
Registration is in April and at the Sportsplex.<br />

dates and prices. The spring league for traveling<br />
teams is April through June, with mail-in<br />
registration in January. Forms may be downloaded<br />
from the above Web site. The Gaylord<br />
Soccer League hosts annual tournaments in<br />
June and September.<br />
• Swimming. The Gaylord Gators, a youth<br />
competitive swim club, meets at the Sportsplex,<br />
with sessions from October through December,<br />
then January though March; call Jennifer Hope,<br />
231-546-4072. Aqua Fit, water exercise for all<br />
ages, is held year-round; call the Sportsplex<br />
731-3546. Swim lessons at the Sportsplex, are<br />
held year-round, at $50 per child per session<br />
in Otsego County and $60 out of county. Save<br />
$10 by signing up more than a week early.<br />
Each session is comprised of eight classes; call<br />
the Sportsplex at 731-3561.<br />
• Kayaking. The Kayak Klub helps fine<br />
tune skills from the fall through the spring at<br />
the Sportsplex. Cost is $9 per visit or use a<br />
$35-punch card for five visits. Call 731-3546.<br />
• Volleyball. Co-ed Volleyball League is<br />
held at the Community Center during the fall.<br />
A women’s league plays in the spring, beginning<br />
in February. For more information call<br />
732-6521.<br />
• Walking. Keep Movin’ at the Plex, held<br />
year-round at the Sportsplex, offers walking<br />
incentive for all ages. Participants use the<br />
walking track around the ice rink. For more<br />
