IN MEMORIAM<br />

Paul J. Raley, A’66, passed away in Los Angeles on June 6 at<br />

the age of 71. Raley began his career in advertising but moved<br />

to television, winning an Emmy Award as a writer for David<br />

Letterman’s short-lived 1980 daytime talk show. Raley turned a<br />

character from that show into a stand-up comedy act, and later<br />

was head writer for D.C. Follies and executive story producer for<br />

Grace Under Fire. Other writing credits included Saturday Night<br />

Live, Benson and Night Court.<br />

Gino J. Giocondi, B’56, died on Dec. 6, 2014, in Tarpon Springs,<br />

Fla. He was 82. Giocondi joined Chrysler Corporation in 1963 as<br />

a dealer field auditor and rose through a number of regional and<br />

national sales management positions. Promoted to vice president<br />

for service and parts in 1985, he also held vice presidencies<br />

for special products and quality and productivity prior to his<br />

retirement. One of the nation’s leading experts on total quality<br />

management in the automotive industry, he also served as an<br />

adjunct professor at Oakland University in Michigan.<br />
