The Colts fell to the St. Louis Rams by a 38-8 margin in a Week 10<br />

contest at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Rams played a complete game<br />

scoring touchdowns in all three phases (offense, defense and special<br />

teams). St. Louis defensive end Chris Long opened the scoring<br />

with a fumble return for a touchdown following an Andrew Luck<br />

sack-fumble. Zac Stacy tallied a one-yard touchdown run prior to a<br />

Tavon Austin 98-yard punt return. Austin posted two other touchdowns<br />

on receptions of 57 and 81 yards. St. Louis notched 38 consecutive<br />

points before Indianapolis found the scoreboard on a<br />

Donald Brown 13-yard touchdown pass from Luck. It was Brown’s<br />

first career receiving touchdown. Rams quarterback Kellen<br />

Clemens completed 9-of-16 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns<br />

while Austin led the team receiving with 138 yards and three<br />

total touchdowns. For the Colts, wide receiver T.Y. Hilton recorded<br />

his ninth career 100-plus receiving contest (130 yards) while tying<br />

a career-best with seven receptions. Defensively, outside linebacker<br />

Robert Mathis totaled 2.0 sacks. He set a franchise record<br />

for career multiple-sack games with 26 and set a new team record<br />

for multiple-sack games in a single season with six. Mathis also established<br />

a new career-high in sacks for a single season with 13.5.<br />

WEEK 10 vs. ST. LOUIS GAME NOTES<br />

•The Indianapolis Colts dropped a Week 10 home meeting to the<br />

St. Louis Rams by a 38-8 margin.<br />

•The Colts have only allowed 29 points in the fourth quarter, which<br />

ranks tied for second in the NFL. Following today’s game, Indianapolis<br />

has held an opponent scoreless in the final quarter on six<br />

occasions this season.<br />

•The Colts tallied their lone touchdown of the game when quarterback<br />

Andrew Luck found running back Donald Brown for a 13-<br />

yard connection. On the drive, Luck completed 8-of-8 passes for<br />

90 yards, including a 20-yard reception by running back Trent<br />

Richardson. Brown’s receiving touchdown was the first of his fiveyear<br />

pro career. Following the touchdown, tight end Coby Fleener<br />

added a two-point conversion reception, his second in as many<br />

weeks.<br />

•Quarterback Andrew Luck completed 29-of-47 passes for 353<br />

yards, one touchdown and three interceptions for a 65.3 passer rating.<br />

He also added four rushes for 17 yards. With 353 yards, Luck<br />

tied Bert Jones (eight) for the third-most 300-plus passing yard<br />

games in Colts history. With 47 attempts, Luck passed Jack<br />

Trudeau (nine) for the second-most games with 40-plus attempts<br />

in franchise history. Luck now has 94 career rushing attempts,<br />

which ranks seventh in franchise history among quarterbacks. With<br />

17 rushing yards, Luck passed Marty Domres (454) for the sixthmost<br />

career rushing yards by a quarterback in Colts history.<br />

•Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton caught seven passes for 130 yards and<br />

recorded his ninth career 100-yard receiving contest. Hilton now<br />

ranks tied for fourth in the NFL in 100-yard receiving games dating<br />

back to 2012. With 130 receiving yards, Hilton tied Bill Brooks<br />

(nine) for the seventh-most 100-plus-yard receiving performances<br />

in Colts history. Hilton’s 130 receiving yards marked his secondbest<br />

performance for a single game (140 vs. Seattle on Oct. 6,<br />

2013).<br />

•Andrew Luck and T.Y. Hilton connected on a 65-yard pass in the<br />

third quarter, which was the third-longest connection between the<br />

two dating back to 2012.<br />

•Robert Mathis totaled four tackles, 2.0 sacks and three tackles<br />

for loss against the Rams. With 2.0 sacks, Mathis has set a new<br />

career-high for a single season with 13.5. On his second sack of<br />

the contest in the first quarter, Mathis set a franchise record for the<br />

most multiple-sack games in a career (26) and multiple-sack games<br />

in a single season (6.0). Mathis has recorded the most sacks by a<br />

Colts player through the first nine games of a regular season with<br />

13.5. With 2.0 sacks, Mathis passed Kevin Carter and Neil Smith<br />

(104.5) for 24th place in NFL history.<br />

•Running back Donald Brown tied a career-high with five receptions,<br />

while his 64 receiving yards ranked second for a single game<br />

in his career. Brown’s touchdown reception in the third quarter was<br />

the first of his career.<br />

•Wide receiver Griff Whalen tied a career-high with three receptions<br />

and set a new single-game career-high with 36 receiving<br />

yards.<br />

•Fullback Stanley Havili established single-game career highs in<br />

receptions (three) and receiving yards (25).<br />

•Running back Daniel Herron caught his first career pass in the<br />

fourth quarter and gained 57 yards. He also returned his first career<br />

kickoff in the first quarter (13 yards).<br />

•Wide receiver David Reed caught his first pass as a member of<br />

the Colts in the second half.<br />

•Wide receiver LaVon Brazill provided his longest career punt return<br />

(17 yards) in the third quarter.<br />

•Cornerback Cassius Vaughn recovered his first career fumble in<br />

the first quarter.<br />

•Linebacker Jerrell Freeman led the team with 10 tackles (six<br />

solo).<br />

•Safety Antoine Bethea started his 89th consecutive game, which<br />

ranks first among active NFL safeties. He finished with five tackles<br />

in the contest.<br />

•Kicker Adam Vinatieri ended a streak of 154 consecutive games<br />

having scored at least one point.
