U.S. Civil Air Patrol cadets consider it an honor to be a color guard<br />
member. “It’s for all of the people fighting for our country and for<br />
those who have died for our freedom,” explained one cadet.<br />

Patrol’s 2006 National Cadet Color Guard<br />
Competition, she gently touched the small photo<br />
hidden in the folds of her uniform. She knew this<br />
competition was far more than precision, turns<br />
and regulations. She and her team were honoring<br />
the man in the photo — former California Wing<br />
cadet and color guard member Marine Lance<br />
Cpl. Jason Moore, who was killed in Iraq defending<br />
the very colors they would carry that day.<br />
