The second half of this list entitles us to assert
that the Romanian cinema is, nowadays, one of
our best cultural ambassadors.
And it goes on and on.
This year’s edition invited in its Official Competidear
friends,
All along the years,this noble and generous home
of cinematography – Cannes Film Festival –
endeavoured to create and strengthen connections
between the cinematographies of our century.
Cannes Film Festival always outlined the most
exacting,surprising and promising authors.
It is also the place where many Romanian films

section. Cannes Classics will screen The Forest of
the Hanged by Liviu Ciulei.
We are positive that this year’s edition will be
ruled, as always, by Jean Cocteau’s words about
the festival: “an apolitical no man’s land, a microcosmos
of what would be the world if people
could have direct contacts and could speak the
same language”.
