In celebration of International Women’s Day 2011
Queensland Theme: Celebrating 100 years of women’s achievements
International Women's Day (IWD), an important day for women all around the world when we can all celebrate
the strengths and achievements of women, is celebrated on 8 March each year. IWD was first declared in 1910
with the first IWD event held in 1911. 2011 sees 100 years of International Women's Day having been
celebrated around the world.
Minister for Women Karen Struthers has announced that the Queensland Government’s theme for International
Women’s Day 2011 events held in Queensland will be Celebrating 100 years of women’s achievements.
WEN’s guest speakers will be inspirational and interesting, so please note Friday 11 March in your diary ….
come along, bring your friends, hear what our guest speakers have to say and enjoy a delicious afternoon tea.
