They were graceful and elegant as they performed to a medley of oldies but goodies tunes like 'Let Me Call You Sweetheart' and 'Something Stupid' in their Valentine red outfits. The audience certainly cheered them on as they danced and sang to the choreography of Ms. Julie Borromeo and piano player Lester. Highlight of the performance was the participation of our very own Parish Priest, <strong>Fr</strong> Joel Sulse, as he joined in the finale number of 'I Could Have Danced All Night'. The parishioners gave the group headed by President Betty Roxas-Chua a generous round of applause for their efforts! Well done ladies! February 24. 2013 9 Single Young Adults Lenten Retreat SYABatch 24 from SYAWeekend held last September 21-23, 2012. know that they are not alone nor are forgotten. Since its first weekend retreat 12 years ago, SYA has been a venue where its members find friendship grounded on common faith and love for God and His community. This March 15,2013 we invite you to come experience its 25th Weekend Retreat and to be part of the SYA community. To register, you may get in touch with Liv (09175221103) or Kris (09178126474). SYAGift Giving at Makati City Jail Probably more than any other season in the year, Lent invites us most to reflect on our life, our selves, and our relationship with God. For single adults age 21-39, the 25th SYA weekend Retreat scheduled on March can be the perfect time to step back, take stock, and renew our faith. During the weekend, participants will tackle several issues most relevant . to single adults. It will be a stay-out retreat held at Santuario de San Antonio conference rooms that will start on the evening of <strong>Fr</strong>iday (March 15) up to Sunday (March 17). The Weekend is organized by the Single Young Adults (or SYA) group of Santuario de Antonio. SYA is a parish-based community that caters to the needs of single adults. It currently has nearly 500 members, and throughout the year SYA conducts various activities, one of them being the SYA Weekend Retreat held twice in a year. Beyond the retreat, SYA sustains the process of building and strengthening our relationship with God and the community via its regular activities. There are the monthly masses held every first Thursday of the month.which PGH Outreach - Christmas also doubles as birthday celebration for the month's celebrants. During these gatherings we get to learn more about our Catholic beliefs and traditions and afterwards, get to spend time bonding with other SYA members over salo-salo. SYA gets together every third Thursday for its prayer meeting, a once- a-month opportunity to reflect and share. At regular intervals, SYA also acts as sponsor for the Youth Mass of the San Antonio Parish. For the community, SYA also involves itself via the various outreach programs it spearheads, such as those for the kid cancer patients of PGH and for the inmates of the Makati City Jail (MCJ). For the kids at PGH, SYA drives fund raisings as well as activities to give fun to the children and their parents, For the inmates of MCJ, SYA organizes donations to. help with basic needs as well as activities that foster creativity and teamwork (like the Makati City Jail Master Chef where the inmates compete for the best and tastiest dishes they can whip up). At the core, these programs are venues for the SYA people to share their talents and gifts, letting our brothers and sisters
