President Chitra Shinde awarded Face <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Year</strong> by ELSC<br />
Hyderabad – October 5, <strong>2012</strong>- Express Distribution and Supply Chain Solutions<br />
provider <strong>GATI</strong>-<strong>KWE</strong>, a subsidiary <strong>of</strong> Gati Ltd, won <strong>the</strong> <strong>Best</strong> <strong>Logistics</strong> <strong>Provider</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> <strong>Year</strong>(<strong>Road</strong>) <strong>2012</strong> Award at <strong>the</strong> 6th Express, <strong>Logistics</strong> & Supply Chain<br />
Conclave. This is <strong>the</strong> second year in a row that <strong>the</strong> Gati has been awarded this<br />
prestigious award.<br />
The Express, <strong>Logistics</strong> & Supply Chain Conclave <strong>2012</strong> organized by Kamikazi B2B<br />
media is <strong>the</strong> only conference and networking event in India that helps in<br />
uncovering <strong>the</strong> right <strong>Logistics</strong> and Supply Chain solutions from an Asia<br />
perspective.<br />
<strong>GATI</strong>-<strong>KWE</strong> bagged <strong>the</strong> award in <strong>the</strong> Category <strong>of</strong> ‘<strong>Best</strong> <strong>Logistics</strong> <strong>Provider</strong> – <strong>Road</strong>’,<br />
<strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r nominees in <strong>the</strong> category were Safexpress Pvt. Ltd., Blue Dart<br />
Express Ltd., TNT India Pvt. Ltd., TCI XPS and Future Supply Chain Express.<br />
<strong>GATI</strong>-<strong>KWE</strong> President, Ms. Chitra Shinde won <strong>the</strong> “Face <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Year</strong>” Award for<br />
<strong>the</strong> year <strong>2012</strong> . A lady in a sector dominated by men, Ms. Shinde has prior<br />
experience in <strong>the</strong> fields <strong>of</strong> operations management, process improvement,<br />
change management as well as automation. A Post Graduate in Marketing and<br />
Finance Ms. Shinde has experience in Operations Management in international<br />
markets like Papua New Guinea, Pacific Islands, Australia as well as in New<br />
Zealand.<br />
She was responsible for carrying out <strong>the</strong> integration <strong>of</strong> DHL’s operations with JV<br />
company Courier post in her previous assignment. Post her appointment in Gati<br />
as <strong>the</strong> Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Shinde rose to <strong>the</strong> rank <strong>of</strong> President <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
recently formed JV with <strong>the</strong> Japanese logistics player, Kintetsu World Express<br />
(<strong>KWE</strong>) in a short span <strong>of</strong> two years.<br />
Commenting on <strong>the</strong> awards, Ms. Shinde, President, Gati-<strong>KWE</strong> said, “We are<br />
