Specialty Risks

RKH is a modern,
forward thinking
company that has
traditional standards
and values at the very
core of its success.

About the
RKH Group
R K Harrison Group Limited, with
its four subsidiaries, is a leading
independent insurance and
reinsurance broker, specialising in
providing bespoke solutions to
businesses, insurance brokers, trade
associations and private individuals,
both in the UK and internationally.
The company remains privately owned by its
senior professionals who are committed to
building the business as the independent broker
of choice across a broad range of specialist
disciplines.
As well as offering cover for Specialty Risks, the
RKH Group provides global insurance solutions
in the following areas:
• Casualty
• Commercial/Corporate
• Construction
• Energy
• Trade Credit & Bonds

Specialty
Risks
We are uniquely placed to have
market buying power but still small
enough to have flexibility and care.
We find solutions and provide valuefor-money
policies after taking the
time to fully understand our clients’
expectations from their insurance.
We are 100% employee-owned and
therefore our clients matter to our
staff. In each product line we are
involved in, the teams are best of
breed. Whilst we are predominantly
based in the UK, we also have
worldwide reach acting on behalf of
our clients on a global basis.
Planning campaigns and events is fraught with
uncertainty. RKH’s Specialty Risks team can create
insurance solutions that reduce uncertainty,
enabling you to focus on your business.
The team is led by Paul Chapman and Brian
Freeman, who together have over 50 years of
experience in creating insurance solutions that
specifically address the contingency risks faced
by businesses.
We have placed event cancellation cover for
some of the world’s most high profile cultural
and sporting events, such as the Paralympics
and the Jubilee celebrations, as well as the prize
indemnity insurance for a number of recognised
FMCG brands.
Drawing on our extensive experience and
relationships in Lloyd’s of London and the
company markets, we create insurance solutions
that support our clients’ business plans and help
protect their financial exposure.

Overview
The Specialty Risks team offers insurance
solutions for a comprehensive range of
contingency exposures and has extensive
knowledge in handling embedded credit card
insurance. Our aim is to provide clear, concise
guidance in the placement of specialty risks
insurance.
Our approach is friendly and professional
We find solutions to even the most unusual
risks and use plain English to cut through the
insurance jargon.
Services
We offer complete insurance solutions for:
• Over Redemption
• Prize indemnity
• Lottery insurance
• Event cancellation and liability
• Non appearance
• Contingent terrorism
• Credit card enhancements
• Travel insurance
We are innovators
We regularly create products for clients that
previously did not exist in the market instead of
offering “off-the-shelf” products that may not be
fit-for-purpose.

Claims
Claims happen – how do we look after you?
The main reasons for claim disputes are misrepresentation and non-disclosure of
information. We work with you to help ensure your policy responds to your needs.
Last year RKH Group facilitated
a total settlement of nearly
£600m of claims for our clients.
We understand the need for a fair and rapid claims service.
Through strong relationships with our markets we aim to
provide a smooth and trouble-free process.
We have a dedicated and fully integrated claims team that
endeavours to ensure all claims are handled in a professional,
confidential and efficient manner.
Because we only work with insurers with a reputation for
a good claims service, all claims are handled with equal
importance and urgency.

Prize
Indemnity
Insurance
Larger prizes can make your
competition appeal to a wider
audience, and increase the impact
of your promotion, but how can you
fund the headline-grabbing jackpot
you’d like to offer?
Whether it’s something as large
as a lottery, or as specialised as an
on-pack instant win, R K Harrison
Insurance Services can tailor prize
indemnity insurance that will free
you to be more creative with your
competition and keep to your
budget.

Prize Indemnity Insurance
Prize indemnity insurance gives you the opportunity to offer
large prizes against relatively low costs, whilst gaining maximum
promotional coverage.
A few examples of this are:
Lotteries
By putting part of the ‘provision of prizes’ element of your ticket cost towards a prize indemnity policy, you can
offer a large, fixed jackpot without worrying that you won’t have the ticket sales to support it. A larger jackpot
usually means more participants.
Probability or chance-based competitions
Offering large prizes for ‘Dice-Roll’, ‘Safe-Crack’ and ‘Number-Match’ type competitions can be an exciting way to
engage audiences at live events. RKH Insurance Services’s expertise in this field means we can create a concept
or adapt a brief that works for you and your budget.
Sporting challenges
Hole-in-one competitions, basketball shots, ‘kick for cash’ at football and rugby – RKH can tailor a policy that
allows you to offer exciting prizes at your event.
Promotional campaigns
Prize indemnity insurance can also support a multitude of promotional campaigns by providing coverage for
high level prizes that are offered amongst lower level prizes, whatever the mechanism is for winning.
Over
Redemption
Insurance
try me free
‘Try me free!’
An attractive promotion guaranteed to move products off shelf and uplift sales,
but what would you do if more people redeem than you expect? What if 10%
redeemed? Or even 30%? This could far exceed your marketing budget, and
potentially damage your brand if you fail to live up to the public’s expectations.

Over Redemption Insurance
Over redemption insurance, sourced from the Lloyd’s and Company markets, can protect
marketing budgets in the event a promotion is more successful than anticipated.
There are two ways to look at over redemption insurance:
1. A policy providing cover in excess of an agreed level
2. A policy providing cover from the ground up to an agreed level
The coverage can be tailored to your campaign’s budgetary requirements, giving you control
over your finances and protection of your brand.
Over redemption insurance can be used for all kinds of promotional campaigns, including:
• Gift with purchase
• On-pack collectors
• Coupons
• Try-me-frees, money-back-guarantees and challenges
• Click 2 wins
• Text 2 wins
• Cash backs
Non-appearance
Insurance
Wide coverage for cancellation,
abandonment and non-appearance,
this is one of the broadest covers
available for events.

Non-Appearance Insurance
Insurers can help protect you for financial losses due to an
event being cancelled, postponed, relocated, interrupted
or abandoned.
There are various reasons why events get cancelled, including the non-appearance of a specific
individual or group us a good example. By sourcing an insurance policy through RKH, we can
help protect you against any financial losses incurred due to the non-appearance of a specific
person or persons due to a cause that is beyond the control of you and that person or persons.
Non-appearance insurance protects those with a financial interest in the appearance of
any key person or persons at an event, including performers, public speakers, artists and
sportsmen.
Cover can include protection for your costs and expenses incurred or loss of profit or gross
revenue following the non appearance of the key person/s due to unforeseen circumstances.
These can include:
• Adverse weather
• Death
• Injury
• Illness
• Unavoidable travel delays
• Venue damage
Measured
Weather
Insurance
It’s not just for
Christmas.
Promotions around White
Christmas are common
enough, but there are
countless other promotions
and uses for measured
weather insurance such as
• record snowfall
• record temperature
• cash back offers for items
such as winter tyres and air
conditioning units

Measured Weather Insurance
Measured weather insurance gives you the ability to run a
promotion where the headline prize is enormous and yet
the cost to you is relatively low.
Due to the fact that the reward is only awarded if specific weather occurs, headline prizes
can be enticing, for example, ‘if it snows on Christmas day you get your furniture for free’. This
creates excitement around a product without costing you a substantial amount of money –
this type of high value reward can be offered for a relatively low premium, and the cost of the
promotion can be tailored to meet almost any budget.
RKH Insurance Services has an in-depth knowledge of this type of risk, so we can offer advice
on promotions to help you to stay within budget.
Examples of ways to use measured weather insurance:
• A car dealership in Canada offered first year payments for free if it snows more than three
inches on a specific date, as measured at a designated weather station.
• An air conditioners manufacturer offered cash back if temperatures during the summer
didn’t reach a specific level.
Cancellation
Insurance
Earlier on today, apparently,
a woman rang the BBC and
said she heard there was a
hurricane on the way... well, if
you’re watching, don’t worry,
there isn’t!
Cancellation Insurance
Planning an event can be unpredictable. After large
amounts of money are spent in planning, organising,
marketing and operating events such as concerts,
marathons and music festivals, companies still risk losing
their investment if the event is cancelled.
When you are planning any kind of event, cancellation insurance protects your budget if the
event is cancelled or abandoned due to any cause outside of your control, such elements as
adverse weather, strikes and damage to equipment.
RKH Insurance Services has the experience placing this type of cover to ensure a policy is in
place before an event starts, to protect against most eventualities beyond your control.
Event cancellation insurance can be used for:
• Concerts
• Exhibitions
• Festivals
• Trade shows
• Agricultural shows
• Sporting events
Production
Insurance
Lights, Camera, Action?
Successful films, television
programmes and commercials
are big financial investments that
are the product of a complex
process involving a substantial
amount of time, the efforts of
many individuals and the use of
high-tech equipment. Problems
in any of these areas at any
stage of production could lead
to a delay or cancellation and
significant financial loss.

Production Insurance
R K Harrison Insurance Services can produce an insurance
solution that is tailored to your production’s precise
specifications and exposures, and will mitigate the potential
financial losses to investors.
Film, TV & Advertising
Additional costs incurred for unforeseen and fortuitous interruption of filming during:
• Pre-production
• Principal photography
• Post-production
Key Considerations
• Negative / digital: Faulty camera, stock or processing
• Extra expense: Physical loss or damage to key props, sets or wardrobe, studio
Limit of Indemnity
