We have over 40 years of involvement in arranging insurances for a<br />

wide range of risks for the rural community. As a result we have an<br />

established book of business that encompasses large estates, farms,<br />

smaller land owners and businesses based in or serving the rural<br />

community. In addition we have developed our Fine Art and Mid <strong>to</strong><br />

High Net Worth business recognising their intrinsic link as part of the<br />

specialised risks associated with people living in the countryside.<br />

In 2002 R K <strong>Harrison</strong> was appointed <strong>to</strong><br />

exclusively look after and develop the general<br />

insurance interests of the Country Land &<br />

Business Association one of the leading<br />

membership organisations supporting land<br />

owners. This resulted in the creation of a unique<br />

partnership and led <strong>to</strong> the establishment of<br />

<strong>CLA</strong> <strong>Insurance</strong> <strong>Services</strong> (<strong>CLA</strong>IS).<br />

In the intervening years since its inception the<br />

member service has grown <strong>to</strong> a level where<br />

<strong>CLA</strong>IS now looks after in excess of 4,000 policies<br />

for over 3,000 members and renewal<br />

retention has consistently been around 95%.<br />

These figures indicate the high satisfaction<br />

levels generated by both the quality of<br />

cus<strong>to</strong>mer service and the competitive<br />

premiums being provided.<br />

The <strong>CLA</strong> now views <strong>CLA</strong>IS as an integral part<br />

have extra interests such as running a holiday let, or have<br />

Giles has worked in the rural sec<strong>to</strong>r for over 35 years building<br />

a loyal client following and developing innovative products<br />

<strong>to</strong> protect farmers and landowners alike. He has also been at<br />

the forefront of developing insurance products protecting<br />

the shooting world against cancellation risks due <strong>to</strong> Foot and<br />

Mouth, Avian Influenza and Adverse Weather.<br />

Richard joined RKH in 1969 as a Lloyd’s broker on the private<br />

client side in the London office, he then moved <strong>to</strong> set up<br />

the Salisbury office in 1985 specialising in Farm & Estate and<br />

Private client business.<br />

Colin Liddell –<br />

Divisional Direc<strong>to</strong>r<br />

Colin joined RKH in 1997. He previously worked for the<br />

agricultural specialist insurance brokers Chandler Hargreaves<br />

for 30 years, latterly as Direc<strong>to</strong>r of their much respected Farm<br />

and Estate Division. He now splits his time between Personal<br />

Lines and Farms & Estates<br />

Jeremy Mitchell –<br />

Jeremy has recently joined R K <strong>Harrison</strong> from Aon. He has 23<br />

years insurance experience, both broking and underwriting.<br />

The past 7 years he has spent as a Senior Executive in Aon’s<br />

Sara has recently joined R K <strong>Harrison</strong> from Aon. She has 21<br />

years insurance broking experience. Since 2002 she worked<br />

as a Relationship Manager for Aon’s Farms & Estates division.<br />

Edmund Sword –<br />

Development Executive<br />

Edmund joined R K <strong>Harrison</strong> in 2010, having had 3 years<br />

insurance broking experience with RFIB in London. Edmund<br />

comes from a Land Management background in Yorkshire<br />

and looks <strong>to</strong> combine his love of the countryside with his<br />

knowledge of the insurance industry.<br />

Our Client Relationship Managers are supported by<br />

dedicated teams of rural professionals covering the<br />

disciplines of New Business Broking, Client Support and<br />

Claims Support, all based within our modern Bedford Office.<br />

Client Support<br />

Headed by Pat Jones, the team consists of over twenty staff<br />

who deal with the day <strong>to</strong> day service of our clients’ accounts,<br />

whether it be minor adjustments <strong>to</strong> cover or renewals. All<br />

clients have nominated account handlers <strong>to</strong> deliver a truly<br />

personal service with direct line numbers for easy access.<br />

Colin is ACII qualified and has over 30 years experience within<br />

the insurance industry. Over 25 years of this has been in the<br />

broking arena. Colin has been with R K <strong>Harrison</strong> for over 8<br />

years, coming <strong>to</strong> us from GHBC in Hemel Hempstead.<br />

Colin heads our team of four broking staff who liaise with<br />

insurers <strong>to</strong> ensure our clients get the most suitable cover at<br />

the most competitive prices.<br />

Anna Burt –<br />

Anna has over 20 years of experience in the insurance claims<br />

market, covering all aspects of general insurance. Anna has<br />

built a team with a wide range of insurance knowledge <strong>to</strong><br />

assist clients with the claims process and maintains strong<br />

relationships with insurers <strong>to</strong> promote the R K <strong>Harrison</strong> brand.<br />

Anna heads our team of seven dedicated rural claims<br />

technicians who ensure that in the event of an incident, any<br />

claims are resolved as quickly and satisfac<strong>to</strong>rily as possible.<br />
