CITIZENS POLICE
ACADEMY
The Creedmoor Police
Department would like to
invite those interested to
enroll in the Citizens Police
Academy.
This program is designed
to educate citizens about
some of the duties that law
enforcement officers have.
Some of the topics that
will be discussed are;
Criminal
Law,
Communications, Arrest
Procedures, Crime
Prevention, and Domestic
Violence.
The Academy will start on
September 9, 2010 and run
through November 4, 2010.
Classes will run once a week
from 7 pm to 8 pm.
Space is limited to 15-20
applicants, so if you are
interested please come to the
Creedmoor Police
Department and pick up an
application as soon as
possible.

HCCA SEASON TICKETS
AVAILABLE
The Henderson
Community Concert
Association has season tickets
available for the 2010-2011
Concert Series, which may be
purchased by contacting the
Membership Chair at 252-
430-8640 or by visiting the
website at www.hcca.cc.
Season tickets are
available at $45 for an adult,
$10 for a student, or $100 for
a family. Businesses that join
and individuals who make
donations over and above the
price of tickets will be listed
in a Special Contributors
booklet to be distributed at
each concert. Businesses and
their logos will be featured in
announcements of various
sizes, depending on the
donation amounts.
The Henderson
Community Concert
Association is a volunteer,
non-profit organization.
Concerts are held at the
Vance-Granville Community
College Civic Center
Auditorium, located off I-85 at
Exit 209. All concerts will take
place at 8:00 p. m. except for
Riders In The Sky, which will
be presented in a 2:30 Sunday
Matinee, in order to be
convenient for children to
attend.
Admission is by season
ticket only and there are no
individual tickets available at
the concerts, so you are
encouraged to plan ahead and
get your tickets now.
STEM CENTENNIAL
SCHEDULED
The town of Stem will
celebrate its centennial on
Saturday, April 9th, 2011.
There will be a parade starting
at 1:00 PM and will end at the
Stem Ruritan Club Building.
Anyone wishing to participate
in the parade, please call as
soon as possible.
The history of Stem will be
on display and will include
family history, Stem stores
history, police department, fire
department, schools,
churches, businesses and
cemeteries. Refreshments
will be provided.

Stacy Elaine Wilkins of Rougemont, NC and Terry Lee Clayton
also of Rougemont announce their engagement. The prospective
bride’s parents are Elaine Baldwin of 1531 Olive Circle, Creedmoor
and Wayne Wilkins of 7981 Wood Hollow Trail, Liberty, NC 27298.
The prospective groom’s parents are Helen Clayton and the late
Bennie Clayton of 1575 Hwy. 15 Creedmoor, NC 27522. The couple
plan to be wed on July 31, 2010 at 3 pm at the First Baptist Church
in Butner. The prospective bride is employed at Lowe’s Foods,
Inc. in Durham as an Office Manager. The prospective groom is
employed at Bordeaux Construction in Durham as a
Superintendent. Both the bride and groom graduated from South
Granville High School.

The Central North Carolina
Chapter is seeking volunteers
in Granville and Vance
Counties. Volunteers are
needed at local blood drives and
disaster volunteers are needed
to respond to disasters in our
area which includes home fires.
