Activity #4 - Culminating Activity/Assessment<br />
Skills: Demonstrate understanding of the First Amendment right to freedom of speech.<br />
Materials Needed:<br />
Construction paper, Markers, Colored pencils, Glue, Newspapers, Scissors, Computers<br />
Freedom of Speech Scrapbook:<br />
• Each student is responsible for one scrapbook page dealing with current issues involving<br />
Freedom of Speech<br />
• Students must locate an article from a newspaper and include all the requirements on the<br />
rubric (see following page).<br />
• Put all the pages together to make a class scrapbook for display.<br />
Teacher’s Note: It might be helpful to create a graphic of a scrapbook page for an example - could use<br />
Microsoft Publisher or student-generated scrapbook page.<br />
