A case study using the 2011 Nova Scotia decision in R. v.<br />

O'Regan Chevrolet Cadillac Ltd. McInnes Cooper will provide<br />

an update on employers' OH&SA obligation to "take every<br />

reasonable precaution reasonable in the circumstances" to<br />

ensure workers' health and safety at or near the workplace,<br />

and the legal consequences for failing to do so.<br />

Concussions and mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) are<br />

currently popular topics in the media. This seminar will<br />

focus on the definition and symptoms of concussion/mTBI to<br />

help understand this condition and the factors that<br />

contribute to its increased risk and prolonged recovery.<br />

Recommendations to help monitor and manage symptoms<br />

for safe return to work and leisure will also be discussed.<br />

on the progress of the Committee.<br />
