IN THE GRAVEL TRAP
By Neil Simmons
@world_racing
And there we have it. The Iceman wins the first
race of the F1 season.
Meanwhile in other news.....I am absolutely
shattered, but hey, it is all worth it. My good lady
thought I was stark raving mad doing all-nighters
watching Practice, Qualifying and The Race.
I should have replied in typical Kimi fashion,
“Leave me alone, I know what to do!”
As some of you who follow me on Twitter are
aware, I had the flu last week. Awful, I hope you
don’t get this bug going around as it really knocks
you for six. I did manage to do a bit of writing
and editing here and there in between feeling ill
and watching Formula 1.....oh and emailing
companies to see if they are interested in
advertising in Pit Stop. I love it though.
Still trying to line up some really good and
interesting interviews for you to read, just hope
you are patient as myself and the other writers try
to establish this free newsletter.
I’ve been talking to a lot of you on and off
during the week, too many to mention but can I
just say that you guys and gals on Twitter and
really true motor racing fans and I am enjoying
our little chats.
Thanks again to all the writers this week, but an
especially big thank you to Kate Hewitt who was
put in charge of covering the Australian Grand
Prix for you, I think I can hear her yawning
now.....next up in Malaysia will be Briony Dixon,
then China will see Simulator Chicanes Scott
Woodwiss, Chris Cassingham has been given
Bahrain, Karl Healy is prepping himself for
Spain, I have Monaco and Greg Woods will be
covering Canada. And then we share it around
again.
British Racing.
Yes we all talk about and love the coverage of
Formula 1, but let us not forget that there are a
whole host of British racing events all over
Britain through the racing season.
You have the established BTCC and British GT
Championships, which are so much fun to attend,
some exciting wheel to wheel racing that you
must not miss. We have the British Formula
Three, where you can go and watch potential
champions of the future battling out on the race
track.
All of these major events also have some superb
support races which adds to the brilliant
entertainment. You also have national
competitions, smaller events but no less exciting,
these events deserve you - the passionate fan - to
pop along to your local circuit and show your
support for what is The Greatest Show On Earth -
Motor Racing.
You all have a good week.
See You At The Chequered Flag
