Some say that last week he had the casting vote to elect the new Pope......others say that when he
travelled to Australia for the Grand Prix, the authorities had to change their quarantine laws......All
we know is.....they call him “The Test Driver”
The Mushroom Treatment
Nico Rosberg of Mercedes during F1 winter testing at the Circuito de Jerez in Spain.
He was fastest on the day.
“The car is reliable which is already good,
Then we have…
”The speed is promising. I hope we can show that in Melbourne.”
Any of this look familiar?
It should do, but it wasn’t printed this year it was printed last year. It seems that
Mercedes feel it’s ok to give us the mushroom treatment and think none of us will notice
different drivers giving the same quotes and doing the same kind of thing in testing.
Now I know that they all do it, not just Mercedes I just pulled their name out of a hat
so no reason for me to choose them specifically, but you the F1 fans deserve better
treatment I feel. A wise man once said “Destiny is not a matter of chance; it is a matter
of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved”
So don’t keep fans in the dark F1 and feed them well on truth. You know what to
show fans what they are all dying to see…real lap times…real problems…real
expectations…real emotions.
If they wanted to watch someone spinning lines all the time they would just watch the
politicians for an hour. I can totally see why it’s done, so that other teams don’t really
know the pace, that’s fair enough but at this late time in the game I feel the fans
should know more truth about how teams are all doing. If Nico went round Catalunya
today and set a lap record nobody could react in time anyway so why not let us know
sooner? So I leave them with what I’m calling my quote of the week:
“If someone has enough courage to ask you a question seriously, then you
should be brave enough to answer truthfully”
