FREE TRADE ZONE (FTZ)<br />
Located in industrial and distribution areas, airports, freight terminals, and seaports.<br />
Includes tax/duty exemptions on both imported foreign and some domestic goods,<br />
as well as simplified regulatory procedures and incentives for manufacturing and<br />
logistics companies to operate in <strong>Korea</strong>n FTZs.<br />
FREE ECONOMIC ZONE (FEZ)<br />
Designed to be an ideal living and business environment – attracting foreign investment.<br />
Zone infrastructure includes: high-tech industrial complexes as well as urban centres,<br />
schools, hospitals and more.<br />
Each zone specialises in a specific industry offering deregulation and provision of various<br />
incentives to foreign investors.<br />
FOREIGN INVESTMENT ZONE (FIZ)<br />
An area designated by a mayor or governor as a zone where foreign investors can receive<br />
incentives including tax exemptions or reductions and benefit from mitigated regulations.<br />
There are two types: complex and individual:<br />
- Complex: section of an industrial complex that has been designated for lease or<br />
sale to foreign-invested companies<br />
- Individual: an area designated for an individual foreign-invested company to set up.
