Sunday – Welcome to Camp Shands Day – Make new friends, we are glad you are here.<br />
Check in is at 2 pm.<br />
Camp Tour – Each troop will be given a tour by your assigned Troop Guide.<br />
Chapel Service – Offered right after dinner in our chapel.<br />
Leader’s Meeting- An adult leaders and SPL meeting will be held at 9:15 pm on Sunday night. Leaders<br />
meetings are also held at 8:30 am each day and SPL meeting at 1 pm.<br />
Opening Campfire – The opening campfire will entertain our campers at 8 pm.<br />
MONDAY – Theme - Super Hero Day – Be your favorite super hero today.<br />
Scoutmaster Specifics - Starts at 9:15 am. See training page for more information.<br />
Swimming and Water Rescue begins – Designed for unit usage for swimming.<br />
Safe Swim Defense and Safety Afloat – Offered at the Waterfront at 7:30 pm.<br />
Red Cross CPR Certification – Offered beginning at 7 pm in Meninak Lodge<br />
Fun with Para cord – Bring your own paracord or buy some in the trading post. Learn to make cool<br />
stuff and work on it through the week. Class is at 4:30 pm at Handicraft.<br />
Open Programs – Rifle range, archery, climbing wall, Xtreme Course, and waterfront will be open at 7<br />
pm for any Scout to enjoy. Tug of war, volleyball, and basketball open for practice.<br />
TUESDAY – Theme – Scout Strong Fitness - Consider a healthy lifestyle.<br />
Leave No Trace Orientation – Offered at 4:30 pm at Ecology.<br />
Scoutmaster Dinner – Scoutmasters are invited to enjoy a steak dinner at 6 pm while they learn about<br />
national and council programs and critique the camp.<br />
Troop Volleyball, Basketball and Tug of War Competition— Friendly and fun competition.<br />
WEDNESDAY—Theme<br />
- Order of the Arrow – National Society of Honor Campers.<br />
Paddle Craft Safety begins – Designed for unit usage for paddling activities.<br />
Vespers – A short youth led non-denominational service occurs right after dinner.<br />
Wear your sash – Order of the Arrow members are encouraged to wear their sash at dinner.<br />
Climb on Safely – An overview of climbing safety is presented at 4 :30 pm.<br />
Duct Tape Fun – bring duct tape or buy some at the trading post and make cool stuff.<br />
Order of the Arrow Pow Wow – Indian Dancing and singing at 8 pm.<br />
THURSDAY Theme – Scouting Heritage Day - Show pride in our founders.<br />
Baden Powell Marathon - A tradition at Camp Shands, each troop is invited to participate in the Baden<br />
Powell Marathon at 7 pm. The BP Marathon has been reworked and will feature activities at<br />
ecology, waterfront, scout skills, Green Bar Bill, and archery.<br />
Trek Safely - Offered at Green Bar Bill at 7 pm.<br />
Follow me Boys – Camp Shands will show the Boy Scout Movie “Follow Me Boys” at 8 pm.<br />
FRIDAY Theme - Hawaiian Luau - Have fun with an island flair!<br />
Mile Swim – Scouts and leaders must practice all week and swim at 4:30 pm<br />
Family Night – Families are invited dinner for only $6 per person. 5 and under free.<br />
Aquatics fair – test your skills at our fun Aquatics fair with a Hawaiian luau theme. Scoutmasters try<br />
the famous Belly Flop Contest.<br />
Closing Campfire – Enjoy troop skits and awards for the week at 8 pm.
