The region of Körös-Rivers Gyula was built not far from the junction of Fekete- and Fehér- Körös (Black and White Cris) rivers, on the left bank of the latter, in a wonderful area, which has been declared a national park in part and was inhabited already in prehistoric age. We have 33 locally protected natural areas and elements and 215 unique landscape values. The riverbanks provide a great location for those, who are attracted by the undisturbed, peaceful nature out of the town.
The Fehér-Körös (White Cris) and the Fekete-Körös (Black Cris) belong to the rivers of the cleanest water in Europe. Along these rivers, we meet two popular holiday centres: Szanazug at their junction within easy reach even by bicycle and Városerdő going upwards along the Fekete-Körös.
