Poetry Corner - Casper
I’m going to be a Grandad; now what does that entail?
There’s got to be a lot of fun, or Lifes to no avail.
Of course there’ll have to be teasing, though not too much of that,
Lest, when the youngster comes of age, I may have to ‘Eat my Hat’.
Educating can be fun, especially when outdoors,
Where green paths and secret routes unfold, in place of wooden
floors.
Tolerance and understanding; well perhaps that’s for me to learn,
Guidance and Example is more effective than being stern.
Sports ‘ well they’re a preference, to be chosen individually,
Not everyone likes Golf and Squash, whilst ‘Hangliding’ was not
for me!
Male or Female, Boy or Girl has yet to be discovered;
But there’s no doubt, with Protection and Love wee ‘Casper’ will
be smothered!!
