Get workmates to share their bright ideas this month
and host your own version of Dragons’ Den. Ask for
a small fee per entry and set up your own panel of
discerning dragons. Award the winners a small prize
and send the money you raise to Macmillan.

Did you know?
£181 could pay for a Macmillan social worker or family
support worker for a day. They work with community
and social services agencies to help people manage the
social and practical side effects of living with cancer.
Bonfire Night – 5 November
Put on a sparkling celebration this month and host
your own fireworks display – charging those attending
a small entry fee. You could also sell sweet treats –
such as toffee apples and honeycomb – to make sure
your fundraising total really goes off with a bang.
Clean Out Your Fridge Day – 15
November
Calling all frugal foodies, invite friends and family over
and cook up a super supper using only the ingredients
you already have. Ask guests to donate to Macmillan
what they would usually spend on a restaurant meal.
Celebrate Your Unique Talent Day –
24 November Are your colleagues hiding their
light under a bushel? Find out by hosting your own
workplace talent contest. Sell tickets to friends and
family to come along and watch. And award half
the money raised to the winner(s) and donate the
other half to Macmillan.

Here!
sweepstake – throughout November Bugs, brambles
and plenty of biting comments – will you be tuning in
to ITV’s I’m a Celebrity? If so, why not set up a little
friendly competition with your pals or workmates

Spectre on the big screen – throughout
November To celebrate the new James Bond film,
Spectre, host a special espionage edition of the great
pub quiz – either at work or in your local watering hole
– at £5 per team. Find out who knows their Connery
from their Craig, and then award the winners half the
pot and send the other half to Macmillan. For a more
glamorous way to get into the Bond spirit, organise a
black tie evening with martinis, tuxes and tiaras, and
sell tickets to those wanting to attend.
