DAY 1, THURSDAY, APT VENICE / APT GRAZ / APT LJUBLJANA –
LJUBLJANA:
Arrival at destined airports. Transfer to Ljubljana. Overnight in the
hotel.
DAY 2, FRIDAY, LJUBLJANA
After check-in we will visit the capital of Slovenia. The old city
centre has a unique architectural appearance, particularly due to
a felicitous combination of Baroque and Art Nouveau architecture
and masterful creations by the 20th century architect Joze Plecnik.
We will take a funicular to the Castle of Ljubljana to enjoy a
view over the capital. Welcome drink and some local delicious
specialities will be served in a local restaurant on the top of the
city. We will descend from the castle and allow some free time for
shopping in the city centre. Return to the hotel to prepare for The
evening program. In the late evening, we will enjoy a night cruise
on the Ljubljanica River, departing from one of the city centre
piers, which takes you on a ride under several famous bridges of
Ljubljana.
Welcome dinner in the local restaurant. Overnight stay at the hotel.
**In case of adverse river conditions, the boat ride may be
cancelled and the tour conducted on foot.
DAY 3, SATURDAY, LJUBLJANA – BLED – KRANJSKA GORA:
After breakfast we will continue with our Slovenian fairy-tale and
visit the “Pearl of the Alps” - an exquisite glacier lake glittering in a
green valley of the Slovenian Alps. Bled is a simple resort with an
eminent medieval castle and a romantic island in the lake.
Bled has been attracting visitors with its breath-taking beauty as
well as with calm and inviting waters on which we will be floating
in traditional typical ‘pletna’ boats (OPTIONAL) as it has been done
since the 12th century. The Pletna (if the weather conditions are
favourable) will take us to the romantic island, with an old church
and mysterious wishing bell. Sightseeing in Bled continues with
a visit to the impressive castle, perched on a cliff high above the
lake. The journey continues to Kranjska Gora – the most important
Slovenian Ski resort and the best destination for hiking and biking
lovers. We will drive trough some typical Slovenian villages and stop
to taste typical Slovenian dishes in one of the most representable
local restaurant - Avsenik. Overnight stay in the hotel.
DAY 4, SUNDAY, KRANJSKA GORA – KOBARID – KRANJSKA GORA:
Breakfast. This day is dedicated to Soca valley and excitement
that can be experienced only here. It is a landscape of soaring
peaks, deep valleys & gorges, rivers of crystal clear emerald water,
blankets of thick forest, and meadows filled with wild flowers.
You will try your strength in the rafting activities where the
participants do not require any special knowledge, this is an
activity suitable for all ages. Rafting on the Soca offers the
perfect combination of sport activities, relaxation, adrenaline and
adventure for individuals and groups.
We will end the day at a local restaurant with the one of the most
awarded chefs in Slovenia – Casa Franko in Kobarid. Return to
Kranjska Gora.
DAY 5, MONDAY, KRANJSKA GORA – GORIŠKA BRDA – KRANJSKA
GORA:
Breakfast. This day is dedicated to Goriska hills that are known
as the Slovenian Tuscany. We will visit the most productive and
most rewarded wine cellars of this small but beautiful and rich
region. This day, the story begins in the Wine Cellar BRDA, with
several centuries long tradition of wine making and with wines that
impress wine lovers and experts in Slovenia and in 26 countries
throughout the world. The other wine cellar we will visit is Movia
with its estate that dates from 1700 and which production is based
on the highest measure of respect towards nature with no fining
or filtration. The next in line but not the least in quality is the wine
cellar Kristancic, that got the first price award for its red wine - the
