DAY 1, SUNDAY, APT PULA/APT VENICE/APT TRISTE – ROVINJ/
POREC:
Arrival at Pula airport. Meeting with the tour guide and transfer
to the hotel in Rovinj, famous for it’s location at the Croatian Cote
d’Azur. It boasts beautiful beaches, promenade and luscious green
surroundings in general. The Istrian peninsula on the other hand
offers immense gastronomic pleasures and possibilities of active
holidays through its hiking, biking and similar programs that will
enrich your experience in this well-preserved historical and cultural
environment.
Check-in at the hotel and the rest of the afternoon free at leisure.
Overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 2, MONDAY, ROVINJ/POREC – BUZET – MOTOVUN –
GROZNJAN – ROVINJ/POREC:
A day, dedicated to truffles – an extraordinary and special local
treasure! If you wish, you may take part in the trill of searching
and possibly finding this hidden treasure in the woods of Istrian
inland. We will continue the journey towards Motovun – a medieval
town established on the site of an ancient city called Kastelijer
and famous for its film festival with unique recognisability among
the moviemakers and movie appreciators. We will take a break
in a local restaurant with delicious homemade local specialities.
(OPTIONAL) Our next stop will be a small and cosy town of
Groznjan, known for its twenty galleries and art studios, the
summer international film school and the International Cultural
Centre of Croatian Musical Youth. Return to Rovinj/Porec. Free time
for dinner. Overnight stay in the hotel.
DAY 3, TUESDAY, ROVINJ/POREC – VODNJAN – PULA – BALE -
ROVINJ/POREC:
A whole day devoted to enjoyment – the tasting of most
representative products from Istria: wine, prosciutto, cheese and
olive oil. We will start in Vodnjan with prosciutto and wine tasting,
have a peek at olive field and experience olive oil tasting. After this
we will continue with sightseeing of one of most ancient cities of
the region with rich history of more than 3000 years – Pula, famous
for one of the most preserved amphitheatres in the world. We will
continue to explore the taste of Istria and end our Istrian delicious
tour in Bale for more olive oil and wine tasting. We will return
trough the Lim channel – a site, known for production of delicious
oysters. Possible tasting in the Lim fjord (depending on the season
of program realisation). Return to Rovinj/Porec. Overnight.
DAY 4, WEDNESDAY, POREČ COUNTY:
A day, spent in Poreč County – starting with a visit to Euphrasian
Basilica - one of Istria’s biggest producers of wine, olive oil and
cheese. We will visit the plantations of this recognised and
awarded producer to get acquainted with and enjoy its worldwide
known products. Return to the hotel to enjoy the rest of the day
in the facilities of the hotel. Overnight.
DAY 5, THURSDAY, ROVINJ/POREC – NP BRIJUNI – ROVINJ/
POREC
A visit to the only national park of Istran region – Briuni islands,
where the most famous historical figure of ex-Yugoslavia, Marshal
Tito, used to have a summer residence. The story tells: The Maker
intended to shape a part of the Earth to the image of Heaven.
That is how Istria came into being, like a garden covered with
magnificent trees and vast meadows, washed by the deep blue sea,
appealing people to a happier life. But the jealous devil destroyed
his work by tearing the bag in which the angel was carrying the
unused stones. Thousands of rocks scattered around the Istrian
land making it a land of contrasts, gentle and rough, fertile and
barren, sunny and cloudy. The desolated angels gathered the
pieces of Heaven remaining among the scattered rocks and
protected them by the sea waves and created Brijuni*. Return to
Rovinj. Overnight. *National park Brijuni
DAY 6, FRIDAY, ROVINJ/POREC – POSTOJNA CAVES – PREDJAMA
CASTLE - ROVINJ/POREC
Breakfast. Today we will step outside of Croatian borders and
visit one of the most popular caves in the world – Postojna caves.
It boasts a fantastic web of tunnels, passages, galleries and halls,
with astonishing diversity of Karst features, and easy access. All
those are certainly main reasons for such popularity of the cave
and a large number of visitors, since it has already been visited
by 36 million in 200 years. In continuation we will hear the story
of the Slovenian Robin Hood – Erazem of Predjama, who lived in
Renaissance castle built within the cave system, that today present
one of must see highlights of Slovenia. Return to Rovinj/Porec.
Overnight.
DAY 7, SATURDAY, ROVINJ/POREC – APT PULA/APT VENICE/APT
TRISTE
Breakfast. At the required time, transfer to Venice airport for your
check-in for your flight back home.
