Emerald Bay 2 Participants will explore the lessons learned from three district-wide implementations of digital badging as a model for proficiency-based professional development. This approach to professional development immerses teachers in the style of blended learning they are expected to implement. Participants will leave with practical examples, steps for development, and tools for implementation if they are interested. These are second semester projects that synthesize and demonstrate a student’s mastery of CCSS visited during the first semester of class. In these projects, students use instructional technology, historical literacy, and research skills to design webquest and document-based questions.
