Energy Reduction Efforts at 411 Legget
A new Building Automation System was installed at
411 Legget. Today, buildings and building automation
systems are critical assets of any business. An
effective BAS delivers workplace comfort and energy
savings by controlling HVAC, lighting, central plant
and critical processes. KRP’s new software integrates
environmental, energy, security and safety systems
into powerful management tools. This web-based
technology provides building managers with global
access to building performance information – any place
at any time. This powerful tool offers an intuitive user
interface and powerful control features, allowing our
Building Operator a powerful tool to minimize energy
consumption, maximize comfort and achieve sustainable
building operations. All building management functions
can be accessed online through a browser to allow:
• The setting and changing of schedules for lighting,
heating and cooling depending on tenant requirements
and building occupancy;
• Adjusting setpoints and other control properties;
• The trending of all building conditions including energy
and comfort, to allow adjustments to happen in real
time;
• To run custom reports on energy usage and 100much
more.
determine what areas of the building could be modified
to minimize the amount of wasted energy.
In addition, an LED lighting retrofit was undertaken
saving 238,782 kwh of electricity in just three short
months. This represents enough electricity to power
300 homes for a month. KRP is engaged in several
energy saving projects across the portfolio, so stay
tuned for more results as they come in!
