MAN PROFIDRIVE ® TRAINING MODULES
ProfiDrive ® is MAN’s international driver training institution with over 30 years’ of training experience and
125 trainers in 32 countries. Accredited by TüV Süd, the DVR and certified for Europe’s stringent BKrFQG
- the legal requirements for the qualification of professional drivers - this wealth of knowledge is now
available in South Africa with a select range of driver training courses:
Basics:
This one day course comprises a theory session covering a brief introduction to the correct operation of the
various vehicle features. A hands-on practical session follows to ensure that the theory is well cemented in
the minds of participants and that they can demonstrate their understanding practically on the vehicle.
Economy:
This one day course kick-starts with trainees performing a short trip on a fully laden vehicle along a predefined
route. It then follows with a theory session covering economic driving principles and techniques
aimed at targeting minimal fuel consumption on MAN vehicles. Hereafter, trainees test the theory they have
learnt by repeating the route and comparing their results. Participants can expect to have fuel economy
demystified and be impressed with their improvement.
It is said that “the worm must be tasty for the fish, not the fisherman”; at MAN Truck and Bus, South Africa,
our training content on these ProfiDrive ® courses have therefore been well-customized for your specific
MAN models, and trainers focus on relating all material to your current operations – so no time is wasted
on irrelevant information.
MAN ProfiDrive ® courses are conducted at our training facility in Isando with a fully laden TGS rig however,
subject to prior arrangement, training can be arranged at your premises with your vehicles should you wish.
Apart from the knowledge and skills gained, trainees receive training material to refresh the lessons learnt,
a certificate of completion and an experience not to be forgotten.
Hill and Low Maintenance:
This one day course takes trainees through a deeper understanding of the techniques and precautions
they can take in order to minimize the natural wear and tear, as well as the risk of failures on vehicles.
Emphasis is placed on correct application of the MAN BrakeMatic ® system, as well as correct operation of
the auxiliary braking systems. Trainees test the theory practically on a dedicated route with a laden rig on
significant gradients to experience these features for themselves.
Intensive:
MAN Senior Driver trainers take your driver trainer through a series of intensive theory and practical
sessions over a three-day period. The primary focus is on ensuring that your fleet’s driver trainer becomes a
fluent operator of the vehicle and act as a repeater in relaying the lessons learned to your drivers.
Special - Off road:
This one day course comprises a theory session on prudent off road driving techniques and precautions,
as well as correct application of the various differential locks. Subject to prior arrangement, training is
performed on site with your specific vehicle in your operating conditions.
