Diversitysummit
On Tuesday, November 3,
2015, The Dubuque Area
Chamber hosted its annual
Diversity Summit. For the
past 6 years the Chamber has
hosted this event realizing
that a city without diversity is
Chamber Board Chair, Joyce White
participates in one of the workshops.
a city destined for decline.
Decline in citizenship. Decline
in business. Decline in workforce.
Dubuque has made such
strides with guiding our business
community to embrace
and enhance all diversity and
inclusivity efforts. This process
does not come without its
challenges. Many are afraid of
the word diversity. Many are
uncomfortable with the word
inclusive. But when you peel
back all the layers it really goes
back to a phrase we have all
grown up with over the ages.
‘Do unto others as you would
have them do unto you.’
Michael Quan presents for a full
house at the 2015 Diversity Summit.
The Chamber’s role is to set the
stage for topics such as Diversity
& Inclusivity and invite our
members and our non-members
to the table for honest
discussion and information
from experts locally and from a
far.
