It is said that Satan once called to him the emissaries of hell and said he wanted to send one of them to
earth to aid women and men in the ruination of their souls. He asked which one would want to go. One
creature came forward and said, “I will go.” Satan said, “If I send you, what will you tell the children of
men?” He said, “I will tell the children of men that there is no heaven.” Satan said, “They will not believe
you, for there is a bit of heaven in every human heart. In the end everyone knows that right and good
must have the victory. You may not go.”
Then another came forward, darker and fouler than the first. Satan said, “If I send you, what will you
tell the children of men?” He said, “I will tell them there is no hell.” Satan looked at him and said, “Oh,
no; they will not believe you, for in every human heart there’s a thing called conscience, an inner voice
which testifies to the truth that not only will good be triumphant, but that evil will be defeated. You may
not go.”
Then one last creature came forward, this one from the darkest place of all. Satan said to him, “And if I
send you, what will you say to women and men to aid them in the destruction of their souls?” He said,
“I will tell them there is no hurry.” Satan said, “Go!”
Believe me, there is a growing sense of urgency when it comes to reaching the unevangelized mass of people in our world. Did you know…
• There are 11,588 people groups in the world and 6,426 are unreached.
• North America’s population is 341 million people. Conservative estimates show that 255 million of them are lost and without Christ.
• Every day 16,000 children in our world die because of malnutrition. That is one child every 5 seconds.
• A mind-boggling 33.2 million people worldwide are living with HIV/AIDS.
We, as a church, can and should be engaged. There is no time to waste. Let me share with you some tangible ways you can live with urgency and
make a difference.
• Read your Bible daily.
• Pray for the unsaved.
• Pray for missionaries.
• Affirm life.
• Share your faith story with others.
• Give out gospel tracts.
• Assemble an in-home care kit for a family
dealing with HIV/AIDS.
• Give sacrificially to our World Mission
Offering.
Now is the time. Let’s go for it in such a way that God will be glorified!

URGENCY JERRY HORN
“When someone is starving to death or their children are starving and you tell them, ‘God loves you,’ they’re probably not
going to listen. But if you show them how to make their chicken lay more eggs or make their goat give more milk, then they’ll
probably listen when you tell them, ‘God loves you.’”
Veterinarian Dr. Jerry Horn was challenged by that truism when he was first exposed to agricultural and veterinary missions
forty years ago. He credits it as the reason for his September 2010 trip, along with his wife Betty, to Central Asia. Here is his
testimony.
“When we returned someone asked, ‘How many people did you actually witness to?’ and I replied, ‘Well if you mean how
many did I verbally share the Gospel with, it would be
zero.’ In this part of the world, it is illegal and can be
dangerous to share the Gospel unless someone asks,
‘Why did you come here?’”
“We were able to work with peasant farmers, and their
sheep and goats, in support of resident Christians.
The farmers were very receptive to our help. Bear
in mind that these people live on about two dollars
a day, about seven to eight hundred dollars a year!
Most of us in Collierville spend more money on our
cell phones and satellite or cable TV’s than these
people live on for a year’s time. Helping their livestock
to provide them a better income builds relationships
and encourages the question, ‘Why are you here?’
The door is then open for local Christians to share the
Gospel.”

Our country is blessed; but every 11 seconds, 3
people in America die and go into eternity lost and apart
from God. It is our responsibility to share with others about
what God has done for us. First, pray for the lost every day
by using a 3:1:6 card, for courage to share, and the hearts of
the lost to soften. Next, develop relationships and use your
story or a gospel tract to tell about the saving work of Jesus.
Then celebrate as God saves individuals and surround them
with mentors to help disciple them.
Over 54 million abortions have occurred since the
Supreme Court decision in the case of Roe v. Wade.
You can help change this alarming trend by filling a
baby bottle with coins, bills, or checks. The funds
received will support Life Choices and its ministry
which provides a non-judgmental and Christ-like
environment designed to educate and empower
women to make life-affirming decisions. The vision of
Life Choices is to strategically change the procurement
of abortions by providing intervention, education and
support services for women and families in crisis.

ASSEMBLE AN IN-HOME CARE KIT
In sub-Saharan Africa the HIV/AIDS crisis is
affecting large segments of the population.
In 2008 over 1.4 million adults and children
died because of AIDS, and more than 14.1
million children were estimated to have
lost one or both parents to AIDS. Currently,
there are over 22.4 million adults and
children who are living with the HIV virus in
sub-Saharan Africa.
The Baptist Global Relief In-Home Care Kit
is a compilation of medical and hygiene
supplies that assists caregivers of homebound,
terminally ill AIDS patients. Items
in this kit will make the caregivers’ tasks
much easier, but more importantly, will ease
the suffering of the ones affected by the
illness. The BGR In-Home Care Kit consists
of a 5-gallon, heavy duty bucket with a
sealable lid. In Africa a bucket is a very
valuable item that can be used to haul and
store water, store food away from rodents
and insects, and store other goods away
from inclement weather and environmental
challenges. Inside the
bucket are items that
assist in keeping patients
clean and dry. There are
also items to protect their
mat or mattress from
soiling. Medicated lip balm
and lotion help treat the
skin problems that those
suffering from AIDS battle.

that make life easier and
