We were delighted when six
residents who had previously
volunteered within Genesis
successfully applied for roles
within our contact centre.
Elizabeth Smith, Viquar Ali
Rupani, Robiul Hassan Miyah,
Addison Ryan, Jessica Calvelo and
Venise Lambert were all able to
draw on their existing knowledge
Volunteering, Enterprise and
Employment Team helped them
prepare for their interviews.
The result was that all six
candidates were accepted and
have been working in our contact
September 2015.
Elizabeth Smith said: “Volunteering
with the employment and training
personally and professionally. I felt
included and not socially isolated as
before.
The team were supportive and
helpful.
“I would say to anyone who is not
working to volunteer because it is

employment team has been the
experience of a lifetime. The team
supported and encouraged me
before and during my placement,
and [continue to do so] even now
that I am in work."
