HPO GLOBAL ALLIANCE THINK TANKS<br />
One aspect of our mission at the HPO Global Alliance is to advance<br />
the principles, research insights, and practical applications<br />
that can elevate an organization’s performance. Accordingly, we<br />
are organizing some collaborative <strong>Think</strong> <strong>Tank</strong> sessions as one of<br />
our priorities.<br />
This <strong>Think</strong> <strong>Tank</strong> session will address a significant issue in<br />
today’s global marketplace – Moving <strong>Virtual</strong> <strong>Teams</strong> To High<br />
Performance. This session will take place February 8-9,<br />
2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada.<br />
We are assembling a small, select group of experts and professionals<br />
who have significant experience with virtual teams.<br />
We invite you to join us and to share your<br />
perspectives, ideas, and experiences with a<br />
small group of seasoned peers who are on<br />
the same path.<br />
Also joining us in the session will be Tom and Joy Guthrie, facilitators<br />
from Vizwerx, to stimulate our creative thinking, group<br />
synergy, and visualization (see sample below). In our time together<br />
we will identify some critical issues for developing high performance,<br />
develop some tools and approaches to improve things,<br />
and publish documents to record our learning.<br />
SESSION AGENDA<br />
In this session we will address such issues as:<br />
• Selecting people with the right attributes to be successful<br />
virtual team players<br />
• Key factors that “bind together” team members and<br />
leadership<br />
• How managers add value to virtual teams – and what they<br />
need to do to move teams to high performance<br />
• Systems, technologies, and other tools that can foster high<br />
performance<br />
• Effective, transparent communication between all team<br />
members<br />
• Converting creativity, flexibility, and expertise into continuous<br />
improvement and superior customer value<br />
• Other key issues identified by the group<br />
CONCRETE OUTPUTS<br />
We anticipate the key takeaways from the session to include:<br />
• Defining possible new research to be done on virtual<br />
team high performance<br />
• Testing any new tools or approaches in our own organizations<br />
and reporting back to the group on results.<br />
• Publishing a whitepaper and visual products from the session<br />
to enable you to roll out key learnings more rapidly<br />
back home<br />
