Regeneration Project:<br />
• Approximately £85,000 invested<br />
through donations, materials and<br />
volunteering time<br />

their own RB agendas<br />

between shop traders and community<br />
groups in Penygraig<br />

• Changing attitudes towards local<br />
shopping<br />
• Volunteering opportunities for staff<br />
• Increase in staff morale and improves<br />

Key outcomes of Give and Gain Day 2014:<br />
• 96% said Give & Gain Day was either<br />
good, excellent or exceeded their<br />
expectations<br />
• 96% said they would be interested<br />
in volunteering through their company<br />
again<br />
• 96% said they feel the time required<br />
to participate as a volunteer was<br />
rewarded by the benefits of the<br />
experience<br />
• 77% said they developed skills<br />
through participating<br />
• 98% said it was important to them<br />
that their employer supported<br />
volunteering<br />
• 80% said their perception of the<br />
company they work for had improved<br />
as a result of employee volunteering<br />
• 80% said they feel more committed to<br />
their employer as a result of taking part<br />
• 69% of employees said the project<br />
improved the physical space<br />
• 32% of employees said the project<br />
will raise the aspirations of the<br />
beneficiaries.<br />
"This project is literally at the heart of the community of<br />
Penygraig. It has had a transformative effect on trading<br />
environment in Penygraig. The local schools have been inspired<br />
to get involved in the on-going regeneration of their own<br />
environment and the wider community and Valleys Kids has seen<br />
a significant upturn in community volunteering<br />
in our facilities."<br />
