in these islands, complete with cotton plantations and African slaves. Remnants of these plantations can
still be found. Lord John Rolle was a major landowner and one of the most powerful Loyalists. When he
freed his slaves in 1835, he released his land to them for life. In gratitude, several towns are named after
him. This chain of 365 cays stretches over a 100-mile of the most breathtaking beautiful unnamed and
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Dominican Republic was home to Taino Indians that lived there quite peaceable. In 1492,
Columbus discovered the islands and named the island Hispaniola.
By the late 1960´s sugar cane was the gold of DR, but
world economics required more diversification to protect
the country’s economy from wild variations of sugar prices.
It was in the late 1970´s that the government decided to
take measures to bring tourism development into the
country. In the last 15 years the Dominican Republic
became the Caribbean island with the most hotel rooms,
mostly under the ¨all inclusive¨ plan, where it ranks 1st in
the world. In the last 5 years, the combination of superb
beaches, low cost land development great warmth of the
locals has transformed the country into luxury
development heaven.
Puerto Rico is 100 miles long by 35 wide and as a result of its
geographical position in the center of the arc of the Antilles,
Puerto Rico is essentially a crossroads of Hispanic and Anglo
cultures. Despite it's very diverse influx of cultures, Puerto Rico
has been a part of the United States since 1898 and Puerto
Ricans have been U.S. citizens since 1917.
The Spaniards had the earliest and greatest influence to the
Island at their arrival in 1493. During their 400-year tenure the
Spaniards laid the bedrock of the language and culture. They built
cities and towns, fortresses and churches, lighthouses and
roadways. Close to 4 million people live on the Island. Residents
of Puerto Rico have much in common with their fellow Americans
in the continental United States, yet they retain a decidedly
Hispanic heritage.
Combining over 300 miles of the most beautiful beaches in the
Caribbean, a large Tropical Rain forest, a Cave System millions
of years old, and a Dry Forest filled with Cactus... and with
its charm and warm people, Puerto Rico embraces all visitors.
As one of the oldest and most diversified cultures in the world,
Puerto Rico is a vibrant, modern, bilingual, multicultural society,
one that has been molded by Spanish, African, Indian and U.S.
influences. Both ultra-modern and bewitchingly exotic, Puerto
Rico is truly the Island of Enchantment.
Tropical Aviation FBO
Home to the Best Beach in the World, breathtaking views
from inviting waters, vibrant coral reefs and legendary diving,
snorkelling and fishing, Turks and Caicos Islands beckon you
to an undiscovered Caribbean.
The Turks and Caicos Islands consist of 40 different islands
and cays, 8 of which are inhabited. From the main tourist
center of Providenciales to the quiet and tranquil islands of
North and Middle Caicos to the historic Capital Island of
Grand Turk; Providenciales or “Provo” is the center of the
tourism industry with a wide range of luxury hotels,
restaurants, attractions and facilities. Provo’s Grace Bay
Beach has been ranked "World’s Best Beach" by "Conde'
Nast" magazine and by the World Travel Awards for several
years. Grand Turk and Salt Cay offer a glimpse into
Caribbean history with great Bermudian architecture and a rustic charm.
Grand Turk is the capital island of the Turks and Caicos, its
historical heartbeat; It is here that Christopher Columbus first made
landfall on his initial voyage to the New World in 1492. Almost 500
years later, US astronaut John Glenn "discovered" Grand Turk
himself, after he became the first American man to orbit the earth.
This small island attests to the simple way of life from its historic
days of salt-raking, even with the recent addition of the Caribbean's
newest state-of-the-art cruise port. A coral reef, only 1000' out from
the western shoreline of spectacular beaches, drops off in sheer
walls to depths of 7000' (great for wall diving) to depths of 7000' in
the Columbus Passage, known for the annual migration of
humpback whales in January through April.
11

Established in 1783, when 1,400
American Loyalists from the New York
state region fled the Revolution and
settled first in Treasure Cay at Carleton
Point. From there, some moved on to
nearby islands. These pioneers
developed the economy of the island
with an expertise in wooden
boatbuilding, a tradition that has been
passed down to present day.
The natural beauty and pristine waters
are major attractions to living in or
visiting Treasure Cay. There are no
pictures that can prepare a visitor for
the awesome site of this beach…its
size, its white powdery sand and those
beautiful blue waters.
Treasure Cay Hotel Resort & Marina
resort’s layout has embraced the nuances of the community. One feels connected to the locals in sharing
grocery store visits, shopping for beachwear, enjoying morning aromas from the bakery and visiting the canvas
shop or post office. There are several locations to “wet your whistle”, from the Spinnaker Lounge to the Coco
Beach Bar and the Tipsy Seagull Bar. The Tipsy Seagull is renowned as the local hot spot that features weekly
live entertainment and dancing ‘til the wee hours. About 100 yards from the water’s edge sits the Coco Beach
Bar & Grill, famous for its Bahamian drink specialties and local grilled favourites. This quaint, nautical facility
features weekly entertainment, picnic tables, lounge chairs, thatched shades and a water sport cabana for Hobie
Cat, kayak and banana boat rentals. The Spinnaker Restaurant is best for upscale dining.
In Treasure Cay one can relax, or be adventurous and go snorkelling, diving or golfing at the championship
1,030 lb. blue marlin, the second largest ever in the Bahamas, was caught off Treasure Cay. is on display in the
