As a result of marine accidents due to the<br />
misrepresentation of the weight of loaded containers,<br />
the UN Agency: International Maritime Organization (IMO)<br />
has issued new guidelines regarding the verified mass of container carrying cargo.<br />
The guidelines are issued pursuant to the UN Safety of Life at Sea<br />
(SOLAS) convention. Canada is a signatory to this convention and<br />
will be bound by the new requirements. Find out what the Canadian<br />
government’s plans are to implement these changes and how the<br />
changes will affect exporters and importers.<br />
