Launch of the AC in Turkey<br />

Günay Özarın reports on the successful launch event of the<br />

Association for <strong>Coaching</strong> in Turkey.<br />

On 17th October 2015, Association for <strong>Coaching</strong><br />

(AC) launched in Turkey with nearly 300<br />

participants. The launch had guest speakers<br />

from the UK, including CEO and Co-Founder<br />

Katherine Tulpa and Director of Strategy,<br />

Innovation and Partnerships Darren Robson,<br />

who delivered thought- provoking speeches.<br />

professionalism, the Turkey team has put its own<br />

stamp on AC in Turkey.<br />

The team action plan is the result of intense<br />

work inspired by the AC framework, which<br />

incorporates seven core values: high standards,<br />

collaborative, inclusive, responsive, members<br />

and market led, educational, and progressive.<br />

By joining the AC family, AC in Turkey has<br />

committed itself not only to developing higher<br />

standards of coaching and coaching education,<br />

but also to reforming its structure so as to<br />

improve accessibility of coaching and social<br />

inclusion countrywide.<br />

The Turkish core team has twenty-two<br />

professional coaches who have achieved<br />

success in joining the AC <strong>Global</strong> family.<br />

Turkish translations of the AC website were<br />

done by the team’s collective efforts. With their<br />

The AC in Turkey Team has also set additional<br />

targets for themselves. The first one is to<br />

prioritise research, and the result of each piece<br />

of research will be gathered to contribute to<br />

the expansion of Turkish Government policy<br />

in coaching. The second target is reaching<br />

Generation Y. AC in Turkey’s action plan<br />

includes organising seminars and events not<br />

only for Generation Y, but also for the firms they<br />

work with.<br />

Türkiye’de AC (AC in Turkey) Facebook page<br />

received 1,000 likes in 10 days, which shows<br />

there is great potential in the coaching business<br />

in Turkey. Members are delighted to be part of<br />

a bigger family, and ready to support all AC<br />

<strong>Global</strong> members who may need our help in<br />

Turkey.<br />
