• Any liability for loss or damage to personal baggage is in accordance
with the Guest Ticket Contract provisions. Guests’ baggage and
property are transported, stored and handled at owners’ risk at all times.
• Expenses of any kind, including fines, penalties, duties or other charges
incurred by Norwegian and attributable to the Guest’s failure to comply
with regulations of the ship or any governmental authority, shall be paid to
Norwegian by Guest on demand. The Guest shall be liable to Norwegian
and shall reimburse Norwegian for all loss, damage or delay sustained by
Norwegian because of any act or omission of the Guest.
• Norwegian is not responsible or liable for any loss, theft, pilferage,
damage or delay to Guests’ baggage or personal effects. Air,
car, motorcoach, motorlaunch and ground transfer shall be the
responsibility of the provider of the services and in accordance with
applicable limitations.
• As a convenience to Guests, Norwegian may sell tickets for shoreside
tours or arrange other services which are operated by independent
contractors, but Norwegian shall not be responsible in any way
whatsoever for any damage, loss, injury or death arising out of any
service provided ashore or by any airline, motel, hotel, ground carrier
or any other provider of any of the services provided or offered in
addition to the ship’s cruise.
• Norwegian also reserves the right to change or abandon all or any
part of a tour program or other services provided by third parties and
to change the itinerary whenever advisable or necessary. In this case,
Norwegian will not be responsible for any losses or expenses caused
by reason of such changes or abandonment.
• Norwegian’s responsibility does not extend beyond the ship.
Therefore, any arrangements made by or for Guests, either before
boarding the ship or whenever disembarking entirely from the ship,
are at the Guests’ own risk. Guests going ashore on their own are
responsible for reboarding the ship prior to departure from port.
Transfers
Airport to pier (if applicable) transfers and vice versa are available
for purchase for all Guests. Guests who want to purchase transfers
should contact our Reservations Department. All Guests who purchase
transfers will receive a transfer voucher prior to departure. Upon arrival
in the city of embarkation, Guests should proceed to the baggage claim
area to claim their luggage. A Norwegian representative will meet them
in the baggage claim area on domestic flights and outside of customs
on international flights to assist with their transportation to the ship or
hotel (if applicable). For cruise-only Guests booking their own return
flights, we suggest a departure time no less than six hours after the
announced arrival time of the ship.
Air Ticketing
Norwegian’s Air/Sea Program is operated and ticketed by Norwegian.
Airline tickets are issued on fares that are capacity controlled and highly
restrictive, so airline tickets may not be reissued or exchanged for another
carrier or routing. Infants must have tickets on all international flights.
Airline Procedures & Restrictions
The terms of the air transportation will be governed by the air carrier
ticket contract and Norwegian’s Guest Ticket Contract. Norwegian
reserves the right to choose the air carrier, routing and city airport
from each gateway city and to substitute commuter service and/or
charter air service for scheduled air carriers without prior notice. All
terms and conditions governing Norwegian’s Air/Sea Program and the
air transportation arranged by Norwegian will equally apply to such
chartered air service. Flight schedules may not, in some cases, be the
most direct, and connections, layovers and involuntary overnights en
route may be necessary. The cost of such overnight arrangements
(food, lodging, transfers and items of a personal nature) will be the
Guests’ responsibility. Air schedules for some cruise destinations may
require utilizing flights that depart in the evening hours and arrive the
following day. Actual flight schedules, fare basis and applicable rules
cannot be committed until airline tickets are issued. Within 14 days of
sailing, all Air/Sea gateways are on a request basis only. Air/Sea gateway
cities may be withdrawn at any time without prior notice. Norwegian
will not be responsible for any expenses or other consequences
resulting from inclement weather, strikes, flight cancellations, changes/
delays in the ship’s schedule or a change/delay in schedule or routing
made by a Guest, travel agent or airline. Additionally, Norwegian is not
responsible for Airline-imposed fees, such as baggage fees and seat
assignment fees. These are the responsibility of the Guest. If, due to
any cause beyond Norwegian’s control, Norwegian is unable to arrange
air travel (including, for example, because of capacity controls placed
upon us by airlines due to types of fares under which Norwegian books),
or the air travel Norwegian arranges is unavailable or otherwise fails to
materialize, Norwegian’s sole liability will be limited to refunding the air
add-on amount paid to Norwegian.
Air Charges
Air Charges include any and all fees, charges and taxes related to air
transportation imposed by U.S. and/or foreign governmental or quasigovernmental
authorities, such as passenger and airport facility charges,
air departure taxes, foreign airport taxes, customs/immigration/security
fees, airport service charges and inspection fees. Air Charges are
additional, vary by gateway city and routing and are subject to change.
Air Charges are estimated and billed by gateway city and routing and are
noncommissionable. Actual Air Charges may be higher or lower than
the amount quoted. Refunds will not be made if actual Air Charges are
lower than the amount quoted. If actual Air Charges are higher than the
amount quoted, Norwegian reserves the right to collect the difference.
Certain countries require Guests to pay an airport departure tax that
may not be included on the Guest’s air ticket. This tax is collected at
the airport and may have to be paid in local currency. This tax is the
responsibility of each individual Guest. Cancellation fees are assessed
for any air changes or deviations.
Seat Assignments & Special Air Service Requests
Norwegian cannot confirm seat assignments. We recommend that
you or your travel professional contact the airlines directly for seat
assignments. Specific air service requests, such as special meals or the
addition of Frequent Flyer numbers to your airline records, should be
made directly to the airlines.
Applicable Law and Forum and Limitations
Any and all disputes or matters whatsoever incident to, arising from,
or connected with the Guest Ticket Contract or your cruise shall be
governed by the provisions relating to choice of law, forum selection
and certain limitations on your rights to bring a cause of action against
Norwegian. Guests should read the Guest Ticket Contract terms and
conditions carefully, paying particular attention to Sections 5, 10 and 14
for full information on choice of law, forum selection and limitations on
your rights. A copy of the Guest Ticket Contract terms and conditions is
available upon request and can be reviewed at ncl.com.
Your Travel Professional
Your travel professional acts for you in making the arrangements
for your cruise and any related travel, lodging and tours. Norwegian
cannot be responsible for the financial condition or integrity of any
travel professional utilized by you. Norwegian is not responsible for any
representations or conduct of your travel professional, including, but
not limited to, failure to remit your deposit or other funds to Norwegian,
for which you shall at all times be liable to Norwegian, or any failure to
remit a refund from Norwegian to you.
Safety and Security
Norwegian visits a large number of ports in numerous countries around
the world. At any given moment, there are likely to be “trouble spots” in
the world, in terms of crime and/or war or terrorist actions. Accordingly,
it may be necessary to change the published cruise or Shore Excursion
itinerary. Any such changes are for your safety and beyond Norwegian’s
control. While Norwegian endeavors to provide reasonable protection
for your comfort and safety on board its ships, Norwegian cannot
guarantee freedom from all risks associated with war, terrorism, crime
or other potential sources of harm. Norwegian reminds all Guests
that they must ultimately assume responsibility for their actions while
ashore. The U.S. Department of State and other similar government
agencies regularly issue advisories and warnings to travelers, giving
details of local conditions in specified cities and countries according
to the agency’s perception of risks to travelers. Norwegian strongly
recommends that Guests and their travel professionals obtain and
consider such information when making travel decisions. Also, please be
advised that weapons and illegal narcotics (including medical marijuana
or similar drugs used for medicinal purposes) are not permitted on
board any Norwegian ship.
