The SAM Executive Board of Directors are meeting on Sunday, followed by
meetings of the MASS Board of Directors and META Board of Directors this
next week. The great leadership for conducting the business of our
associations is much appreciated. Thank you to the Board members for your
contributions of time, energy and expertise to make SAM and affiliates the
best they can be to serve our members and represent educational issues
impacting the children in our schools.
Nearly 200 of our members will be attending the MASS Spring Conference
and/or METAtechED Spring Conference next week. This is a strong showing
of interest in the great professional learning opportunities planned for each of
these conferences. Thank you leaders of MASS and META for your great
work to create learning and networking opportunities for your colleagues at
these conferences. We will see many of you soon!

SAM Administrators Institute 2016 - Great Opportunity!
Based on the input of our SAM members through the SAM Needs Assessment, we have created the SAM
Administrators Institute 2016 to engage you and your team in a fantastic way to get the next school year
started. This outstanding opportunity will take place on July 25-28, 2016 and we hope you will plan now to
attend the SAM Administrators Institute 2016 at the Helena Great Northern Hotel!
The theme -- "Leadership of Transformational Change for the Whole Child" -- features international speakers
and experts on a wide variety of key items to enhance your planning for the 2016-17 school

SAM Youth Endowment
SAM members, please nominate a deserving student/family that the SAM Youth Endowment may be able to
help -- note the deadline for making these nominations (March 18).
The purpose of the School Administrators of Montana Youth Endowment Fund is to make a positive impact on
the youth of Montana by providing financial assistance to benefit children’s health, welfare, and/or education.
The School Administrators of Montana Youth Endowment Fund has reached fruition. Awards to nominated
recipients will be given in April of each year and announced in the May SAM Bulletin. Emergency requests will
be accepted and presented to the board on an as requested basis made throughout the year. Recognition of
the award will also be given yearly at the SAM Administrators Institute. Nomination guidelines are listed in the

The 2015-16 SAM Youth Endowment nomination application is now available online by clicking HERE . The
application is due by March 18, 2016. Please take a moment to review this wonderful opportunity and
nominate a deserving student if you are aware of a need. Please note that only SAM members can make a
nomination.

MASSP Award Nominations
Deadlines are drawing near for applying for the MASSP Future Administrator Scholarship and nominations for
the MASSP Community Partner in Education Award. Please click HERE to see if you qualify and are interested
in applying for the $1100 Future Administrator Scholarship. Please click HERE if you would like to nominate
someone for the Community Partner in Education Award. Deadline for both is Friday, March 18, 2016.
