the Aged at Nayong Silangan,<br />

Antipolo City, on October 14,<br />

2015.<br />

The 24 residents (16 women and<br />

8 men), most of them<br />

abandoned, aged 60 to 90 years<br />

old, were also entertained by<br />

the members of the CMO Bn<br />

NCR Band of the Philippine Army<br />

with old and modern songs. A<br />

couple of women residents<br />

likewise rendered songs and<br />

jokes to the delight of everyone<br />

present.<br />

Kanlungan ni Maria, home to<br />

poor, abandoned, neglected,<br />

homeless and sick elderlies,<br />

started its operation in 2002<br />

with then Bishop of Antipolo,<br />

Crisostomo A. Yalung, D.D. at<br />

the helm. It is currently under a<br />

leadership team headed by their<br />

Spiritual Director, Rev. Fr.<br />

Reynante Tolentino.<br />

Members of the UWPI Board of<br />

Directors (Corazon N. Cano,<br />

Grace L. Villanueva, Marilou G.<br />

Valbuena and Dr. Butch Ong)<br />

were present to share time and<br />

affection with the residents. Also<br />

present were UWPI staff Art<br />

Dialogo and Tita Pineda.
