What Is Pathway To Podium?<br />
(<strong>P2P</strong>)<br />
Pathway To Podium (<strong>P2P</strong>) is an athlete development<br />
programme geared to helping young emerging kiwi<br />
athletes prepare for life as high performance athletes.<br />
It targets athletes who are 1-3 years from “carding” and<br />
focuses on education in four non-sport specific areas:<br />
nutrition, sport psychology, athlete life and drug free<br />
sport.<br />
It is a holistic approach that incorporates the athlete’s<br />
coach and family into the programme so that they may<br />
better understand the challenges and support required for<br />
their emerging athlete, as well as upskill themselves.<br />
<strong>P2P</strong> is a national initiative. Auckland is the largest <strong>P2P</strong><br />
hub with 89 athletes from a variety of sports.
