AGM REPORT
The Council held a well attended and successful 2015 AGM on
19th April. The executives of the Council are The Chairman, three
Vice Chairmen (all re-elected during the AGM) plus another five
Vice Chairs who are the Chairpersons of the HCK branches,
National General Secretary & Assistant General Secretary, National
Treasurer & Assistant Treasurer. The Executives are members
of the Council’s Managing committee. The Managing Committee
also includes the immediate-past Chair-person and fifteen elected
representatives of the constituent member institutions. The Council
has five trustees out of which two are from the Council’s
Branches. The Managing Committee meets monthly for its
ordinary meetings and may convene any special meetings if
necessary. In addition to this the Council can also convene General
Special or Extra Ordinary meetings for determination of significant
matters.
Similarly the Council’s Branches, being independent, also
convene their Annual General meetings before 31st March of each
year and forward detailed annual reports and accounts to the
National headquarters for inclusion in the overall Hindu Council
annual reports.
To manage its affairs the Council has formed Directorates
described below. The Directorates are headed by a Director nominated
from the managing committee. Hindus competent in the
relevant fields are appointed to the Directorates. The Council
needs people who would be available to participate in its activities.
ADVISORY-Strategic Planning, Policy Frame Work, etc.
Policy formulation and strategic planning for the Council and Hindu
Community. Monthly meetings are held to discuss issues for deliberation
intervention by the managing committee.
OUTREACH -Liasion with Member Institutions.
Determines Branch and Member institution issues and arranges
consultations with them.
HINDU RELIGIOUS EDUCATION (HRE)-
YOUTH-Youth Coordination, Capacity Building, Sports/Events
& Representations
WOMEN-Women Coordination & Activities among Member
Institutions.
Women empowerment and education through thematic and
cultural advocacy.
BUSINESS, PROFESSIONAL, PR & ADVOCACY-Hindu
Businesses, Seminars, Business Talks, Jobs/Placements,
Public Relations & Advocacy
RELIGIOUS AND CULTURAL-Religious & Cultural Activities.
Organizes temple liaison, religious and traditions education &
cultural programs.
SOCIAL SERVICES-Relief and Welfare.
SECURITY-Disaster Preparedness & Surakasha.
Planning and maintaining security and emergency response
and monitoring.
