GENERAL INFORMATION
Fellowships of the Spirit is an organization
that exists in order to help people experience
their connection with God. We study, teach and
practice spiritual unfoldment so that we may
understand more fully God’s presence in our
lives.
Our activities are focused in three areas:
• Our Core Educational Programs consist of two
introductory courses in spiritual awareness,
mediumship & healing, and a formal two-year
training program in our School of Spiritual
Healing and Prophecy. Together, these
programs can lead to full ministerial ordination
in our church.
• Our annual program of Open Seminars brings
expert teachers and authorities in many
different fields of spiritual studies to teach at
our Lakeside Learning Center. Many of these
courses can also be ‘attended’ online, through
our live, interactive, webcasting facilities.
• Our Ongoing Activities include weekly
Sunday evening worship services and spiritual
development circles, and the day-to-day
activities of our graduates in the United States,
Canada and the United Kingdom.

at Fellowships of the Spirit
This past year, one of our students graced us by succinctly summarizing her experience
at Fellowships:

For the past 28 years, on the shores of the Cassadaga Lakes, surrounded by the majestic
old growth forest of the nearby Leolyn Woods, we have offered a wide array of classes
and programs on spiritual and metaphysical development for people just like you. We are
committed to delivering the best experiences of personal spiritual development through our
high quality teachers, staff, and mentors.
This year is no different. We are very excited about our 2016 program! In response to
your requests, we have expanded our offerings to sixty-five events, from January through
December. Our two keystone programs – the two-tiered Spiritual Insight Training and the
mastery level School of Spiritual Healing and Prophecy – still anchor our offerings. The open
seminars continue to provide a wide variety of enriching classes, which explore diverse
metaphysical subjects from Mediumship, QiGong, Native American Spirituality, psychic
surgery, to medical intuitiveness. And, of course, what’s summer without our annual Fun Fest
Psychic Fair?

A Comprehensive Two-year Certification Program in Spiritual Enrichment
Self-Discovery Is the Key

In this concentrated two-year Certification Program, we bring together
a world-class faculty of instructors representing many different spiritual
disciplines. They will teach you all the skills you’ll need to demonstrate the
capabilities you see listed on the right.
Our teaching approach is rooted in deep meditation and spiritual healing
approaches. These will move you through and beyond your mediumship,
your psychic abilities and into the realm of actual prophecy. The unique Live
Learning process we developed to teach our continually evolving Spiritual
Insight Training programs keeps us on the leading edge of body-mind-spirit
integration. It will enable you to absorb large amounts of material in short

Our students come from diverse
religious and spiritual walks. Because
we believe each person’s spiritual
calling is unique and personal, we offer
options for students who successfully
complete their training and graduate
from the School of Spiritual Healing and
Prophecy: Metaphysician Certification,
and Ministerial Ordination. Both of

Programs are held at the Lakeside Learning
Center and include meals. Meals begin the
morning after your arrival and end with
breakfast on the last day. Lodging is not

First Year Program
The first year program consists of:
a) two week-long sessions beginning on a
Monday evening and ending on a Sunday
morning, and b) five weekends of classroom
experience at approximately one month
intervals. This program begins in November
and ends in June of the following year.
Between these classes, students are expected
to put into practice and integrate what they have learned. This includes a regular
meditation practice, as well as documented readings and healings. During the
two years, each student is assisted by a Fellowships-trained mentor, as well
as the directors and faculty. The training format provides both small and large
group instruction, as well as individual attention to each student’s unique needs
and abilities.
At the end of year one, students will be able to demonstrate sufficient
competence in spiritual healing and prophecy to have earned Certification as
either an Associate Spiritual Metaphysician or an Associate Minister in
our Church.
Associate Ministry Option
Students who wish to apply for Ordination must do so in writing. They will be
interviewed by a review board as part of their evaluation and acceptance process.
Successful candidates will be ordained in a ceremony conducted at the end of the
first year. Candidates may apply for full Ministerial Ordination during their second
year of study.
Who can apply to the School and its training program?
Anyone who has completed Spiritual Insight Training Parts I and II may apply.
As a part of the application process, we will ask you to prayerfully consider your
reasons for entering this training. A completed application form and an interview
will be required.
Second Year Program
In the second year, the focus moves onto
helping students recognize the uniqueness of
their individual spiritual gifts. We will address
their weaknesses, build on their strengths,
and deepen their knowledge and abilities
to help them reach new levels of spiritual
development. To this end, each student works
on individually designed, faculty-approved
projects intended to enhance the student’s
personal development. Additionally, students continue their reading and healing
assignments. They will attend 21 days of intensive classroom instruction: training
in healing, mediumship, leadership and organization, public speaking and
presentation, pastoral care and the conducting of worship services. This program
requires a sincere determination on the part of all students to earnestly develop
their spiritual capabilities, and an equally serious commitment to living a life
of loving service to other people. Upon successful completion of this training,
students will receive either a full Certification as a Metaphysician or, if they so
choose and are accepted, full Ministerial Ordination.
Ministerial Ordination Option
Full Ministerial Ordination is intended primarily for those students who believe
they are called to establish a formal ministry of healing and prophecy in
association with Fellowships of the Spirit. This option requires additional work by
the student, whose acceptance into this program and final ordination depend on
faculty’s positive evaluation of the quality of their work throughout both years
of training.

The Faculty
School of Spiritual Healing and Prophecy
Rev. Elaine D.
Thomas, M.S.,
Co-Founder and
Director
Elaine has worked
in the metaphysical
field for 46 years as
a medium, healer,
spiritual counselor
and teacher. Elaine was a student of Rev.
Edith Sandy Wendling, renowned medium
and teacher, who herself was a student of
Sir Arthur and Lady Conan Doyle. Elaine
received training that was rich in the
traditions of Spiritualism’s foremost early
thinkers. Ordained in 1974 as a Spiritualist
minister, her commitment as a student of
spiritual truth is an ongoing process. In
1988, Elaine co-founded and became codirector
of the School of Spiritual Healing
and Prophecy. In 1975, Elaine completed
her undergraduate program in education
at the University of Buffalo. Seven years
in teaching gave Elaine experience in
developing creative education strategies,
based upon the individual needs and
abilities of her students. This led her to
create an educational environment where
students of all ages could again become
aware of their spiritual gifts and how to use
them every day for themselves and others.
In 1981, Elaine completed her masters
degree in counseling at Canisius College,
in Buffalo, NY. She focused her studies
on grief counseling, and her personal
experience with the transformative gifts
that mediumship and spiritual healing can
bring to all. She has been a guest on TV
and radio, including the Oprah Network’s
Beyond Belief and the HBO movie No One

Rev. Tom Cratsley,
B.S., Associate
Director
Tom is an
exceptionally gifted
healer, counselor
and teacher who has
devoted much of his
career to exploring
ways of “healing from the spiritual heart.”
A graduate of University of Buffalo, he
went on to study psychology and religion at
Harvard Divinity School. Tom also studied
with renowned medium, Rev. Edith Sandy
Wendling. Tom’s work has been strongly
influenced by the ideas of psychiatrist
Roberto Assagioli, a groundbreaker in the
fields of humanistic and transpersonal
psychology; by Robert Fritz, for his
pioneering work in structural thinking
and the creative process (and for whom
Tom created and taught a class in the
development of intuition); and by Andrew
Jackson Davis, the 19th-century mystic
who developed a model of the human
psyche based on levels of perception. Tom
is Assistant Director and a faculty member
of the School of Spiritual Healing and
Prophecy. He is also featured in Sandra
Taylor’s book, The Hidden Power of Past
Lives. Tom’s joyful, gentle approach to
teaching and healing opens the hearts
of all who work with him.

Rev. Jessie C. Furst,
B.A., Spiritual
Insight Training
Faculty
Jessie Furst is an
ordained minister
of Fellowships
of the Spirit with
a B.A. in Human
Resource Administration. She has studied
mediumship, psychic and spiritual
development at the Arthur Findlay College
in England. Jessie has appeared on radio
and TV, is a certified professional seminar
leader, hypnotherapist, astrologer, NLP
practitioner, and registered medium in
Lily Dale. She has been a volunteer for the
Domestic Violence Program and hospice.
A dynamic and inspiring teacher, lecturer,
and intuitive consultant for over 35 years,
Jessie continues to pursue her passion
in life of helping others to discover their
purpose and follow their path.
Pastoring in the Community
Rev. Dorothy
McCarthy, R.N.
For 38 years Dorothy’s
healing ministry
was in mental health
counseling. Her
work with clients
as a psychiatric
nurse, a therapist,
her work with female and male inmates in
forensic mental health, and as a meditation
instructor has been on the cutting edge.
Dorothy is a graduate of the School of
Spiritual Healing and Prophecy’s first
class and served as President and a board
member of Fellowships of the Spirit
for 17 years.
Spiritual Healing
Rev. Barbara
Sanson
Graduate of the
School of Spiritual
Healing and Prophecy,
she has studied and
worked in this field
since 1970. She is
a certified NLP
practitioner, is certified in Therapeutic
Touch, and has worked extensively with the
hospice movement. Barbara is a powerful
model of the successful integration of
healing and prophecy. She combines both
aspects of her spiritual gifts with ease.
Barbara is currently the President of the Lily
Dale Healing Association, and has served
as the chairperson of Lily Dale’s Healing
Temple since 1992.

Master Robert Peng
is an internationally
renowned Qigong
Master. At age seven
he apprenticed under
the personal guidance
of the legendary Xiao
Yao, an enlightened
Buddhist monk. At 17,
he began his healing practice. In his late
twenties he began to teach publicly. Within

Graduation and Beyond
School of Spiritual Healing and Prophecy
Since 1989 we have been blessed with students from all over
the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. They
have come from almost every walk of life, bringing their
diverse backgrounds, skills and gifts. Whether the student
is new to this field of study or a seasoned professional
medium or healer, our teaching model has consistently
provided the opportunity for each student to unfold and
grow to their own “next levels.” Our students graduate from
the School of Spiritual Healing and Prophecy with a wealth
of practical knowledge, a new depth and breadth of spiritual
awareness, and the fruits of in-depth training.
Some have established their own churches and now serve
as pastors in their communities. Fellowships of the Spirit
is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) religious corporation.
All ordained ministers of our Church are therefore legally
entitled to full rights of clergy, in accordance with the laws of
each state or province in the United States and Canada and
may perform all the traditional functions and sacramental
duties of clergy.
Many of our other graduates work as professional mediums,
spiritual healers, counselors and teachers. Other graduates
serve in private practices, assist in hospitals and hospice
facilities, and partner with other holistic practitioners such as
naturopaths to provide integrated body-mind-spirit services.
Currently more than 25% of the registered mediums in Lily
Dale Assembly are graduates of our School.
However, the majority of our graduates choose not to use
their spiritual training as an end in itself, but rather as a
means to enhance and enrich the life path they have already
chosen. Our graduates work in almost every walk of life

Edd Edwards was the basis for the popular movie
Phenomenon, starring John Travolta. Edd has had the
healing energy imprinted on him in early childhood though
grandmother who did healing on him every day for the first
three months of his life. His earliest memories as a young
child involved playing with the energy that to him was as

Edd is well known for his ability to modulate electric and

WEBINARS
You can enroll to participate in a webinar and
pay online at any time up to the Wednesday
prior to classes starting on Fridays, Saturdays or
Sundays. Enrollment deadlines for all other webinars
are as advertised. Please note the following technical
requirements:
1. You will need video viewing and audio capability on
your computer. If you can see and hear the test video
on our website you will be able to see the class. If
you cannot do so, please call our office for technical
assistance at least two days before the class starts.
2. An upload speed of 356 KBPS or greater is required.
This is necessary for both PC and Mac.
3. The broadcast works best with Mozilla Firefox web
browser. Free downloads of this software are available
at www.GetFirefox.com.
4. After registering, you will receive a password and any
class handouts via e-mail.
5. At the specified class time, you should enter the
password and sign in to the chat room.
6. One person and one computer per registration. If any
registered participant gives their password to another
party for any class, the online link will be terminated and
no refund will be made.
7. If you are unable to make the link due to technical
difficulties beyond our, or your, control, you will be
given a refund of 10% of your tuition and will be able
to view the class in recorded form at a later, mutually
agreed date.
8. For most webinars, you will be able to participate live
in the chat room or on a telephone conference line in

TUITION FEES
For most programs, different fees are charged for early or
late registration, or if payment is made in installments.
Fees for open seminars and ongoing events are for tuition
only and do not include meals or lodging.
Fees for enrollment in all Spiritual Insight Training classes
presented at the Lakeside Learning Center, and for our
School of Spiritual Healing and Prophecy, provide for tuition
and meals on site, but do not include lodging.

CANCELLATIONS
Fellowships of the Spirit reserves the right to cancel any
event at any time. If you have already paid for a cancelled

Student Cancellations: School of Spiritual Healing
and Prophecy
If a student cancels up to two weeks prior to the first class,
a full refund will be made. If enrollment is cancelled up to
one week prior to the first class, a full refund minus a $100
processing fee will be made. No refund will be made if a
student fails to show on the first day of class.

We are located in the south-western part of New York State,
about one hour’s drive south-west of Buffalo, three hours
south of Toronto, three hours north of Pittsburgh, one hour
north of Erie, two and one half hours east of Cleveland, and
one half-hour from the Chautauqua Institution.

If you are coming
from Interstate 90
(New York Thruway)
take exit 59, turn left
onto Rt. 60 South
and drive 8 miles

If you are coming from Interstate 86
(Southern Tier Expressway, Rt. 17) take exit 12, go north on
Rt. 60 to Cassadaga and turn left onto Dale Drive. Number
282 will be on your right.
Student Cancellations: All other Classes and Seminars
If enrollment is cancelled up to two weeks prior to the class,

As a part of our local community service we conduct the Daily
Meditation Service in the Lily Dale Healing Temple throughout
their summer season and, in conjunction with Church of the
Living Spirit and Lily Dale Spiritualist Church, we co-chair a
weekly Healing Service from September – June in Lily Dale’s
Healing Temple. In 1992 Fellowships built the Labyrinth in Lily
Dale. We continue to maintain it for the enjoyment and learning
of all who walk its pathway.
Our funding is provided through the generosity of tax-deductible
donations to Fellowships of the Spirit, tuition fees, the sale
of books and merchandise, fundraising events and through
donations to the Fellowships of the Spirit Foundation.

as an interest-bearing fund to advance, support and sustain
