Welcome to Camp J, where campers make memories and friendships that 

last a lifetime! Our camps encourage campers, from toddlers to teens, 

to explore and develop their interests in a fun, supportive community. Camp 

J campers become more independent, experience being part of a community, 

and learn to interact with their peers while participating in a variety of summer 

programs, trips and events. 

We carefully craft our camp programs to nurture your child’s interests, offering 

general and specialty programs, with age-appropriate activities focused on 

both fun and learning. There’s never a dull moment at Camp J! 

Your child’s care and well-being are our priorities. Our staff members embody 

the friendly, energetic and caring environment that we create at Camp J, and 

our low staff-to-camper ratio (no more than 10 campers for each counselor) 

ensures a safe and successful summer. 

We hope that your family will join us at Camp J this year and be part of another

variety of professional entertainment. Music 

and P.E. will be offered weekly. Additional

What’s For Lunch 

Camp J’s early childhood camps will 

offer pizza lunches on Monday, Thursday 

and Friday, and Publix boxed lunches on 

Tuesday and Wednesday for $6 per day. 

Lunch includes two sides (fruit/vegetable) 

and a drink.

General & Sports Camps 

CAMP J GENERAL CAMP 

Grades K-8, offered most weeks, $215 per week ($180 JCC members) 

General Camp is jam-packed with fun for campers of all ages! Campers are grouped 

based on grade and rotate between traditional camp activities with their peers 

and counselors. Activities change on a daily and weekly basis, and typically include 

arts and crafts, sports, music, archery, science, cooking, nature, drama, field games 

and WaterZone. Special events and field trips round out the summer to provide a 

comprehensive camp program where campers gain new experiences and build lasting 

friendships. 

NEW FOR 2016! Campers in grades 4-8 participate in our new Camp J Pioneers 

elective program. See page 14 for more details. 

CAMP J SPORTS CAMP 

Grades 1-8, offered most weeks, $235 per week ($195 JCC members) 

Sports Camp is our special sports elective program for campers seeking an active, 

athletic experience at camp. Coaches provide instruction and challenge campers 

through drills and scrimmages in a variety of sports such as basketball, hockey, 

baseball, kickball, soccer, volleyball, and more. Campers are grouped based on grade 

and skill level to ensure fair play and appropriate instruction. Sports Camp campers 

participate in daily events with General Camp such as flagpole and WaterZone, special 

event days and field trips.

General & Sports Camps 

Camp J’s General and Sports Camps are offered most weeks and provide campers the 

choice of a traditional camp experience or a sports specialty program. Campers in 

both programs are fully immersed in our camp environment and participate in daily 

events like morning flagpole and WaterZone, plus field trips and special events.

Join us for our annual camp sleepover, complete with a real campfire and 

s’mores! We’ll play special games, watch a fun movie, and have the JCC all to 

ourselves! This program is included in the Week 4 General Camp fees. 

Color War (July 18-22) 

Be part of our week-long team competition designed to foster sportsmanship 

and team spirit. From track and field events, to song-writing, to our annual 

spelling bee, there are activities for every camper. Parents are invited for the 

final team performances on Friday afternoon.

Pre-Camp 

After the school year ends, Camp J offers daily specialty camps to fill 

the gap until camp starts the next week. The following programs are all 

offered on both June 9 and 10, and are registered for on a daily basis. 

Cooking Camp 

Grades K-8, June 9 and 10, $60 ($50 JCC members) 

The JCC’s brand new kitchen is open for business! Each day, campers will learn about a 

different cuisine and have the opportunity to learn new kitchen skills and prepare and 

cook (and, of course, eat!) new and exciting dishes. 

Hoopstars Sports Camp 


Join us for two days of fun and excitement as we play a variety of sports! Basketball, 

floor hockey, flag football and many more activities will keep campers immersed in 

athletic experiences, while we foster our core values of teamwork and sportsmanship. 

SuperAwesomeCool Art Camp 


Spend your summer with the expert artists from Super Awesome Cool, having a blast and 

making the best art ever! Each day will feature a variety of different take-home projects 

that will include the pottery wheel, clay sculpture, canvas painting, crafts, and more! 

Extended Care 

Need care beyond the regular camp day of 9 am – 4 pm? 

We’ve got you covered! Our extended care program for 

campers in all youth camp programs (including specialty 

camps) allows you to drop off as early as 7 am, and pick up as 

late as 6:30 pm. Our counselors will be there to run fun games 

and activities to keep the camp day going!

Sports Specialty Camps 

DANCE CAMP 

Grades K-8, June 13-17, $250 ($210 JCC members) 

Explore a variety of dance styles! We will view musicals and ballets to stimulate 

creativity and exploration as we create our own dance routines and costumes. The 

week concludes with a dance recital on Friday. 

LEGENDS SOCCER CAMP 

Grades K-5, June 27-July 1, $240 ($205 JCC members) 

The Legends Soccer Camp teaches the fundamentals of soccer 

with a strong emphasis on character development, leadership and 

camaraderie. All players will benefit from the Legends focus on 

teaching world class dribbling, fakes and moves, and finishing skills to 

better prepare them for the highest level of play – all in a fun camp environment. 

HOOPSTARS BASKETBALL CAMP 

Grades K-8, July 5-8, $205 ($170 JCC members) 

Campers of all abilities will improve their skills while having fun! Each 

day, campers focus on fundamentals and key topics, including: jump 

shots, dribbling, passing, rebounding, free throws and defense. These 

skills are put to the test in daily games and competitions. Note: No camp 

July 4. 

POP SQUAD - CHEER, TUMBLE & DANCE 


Learn cheers, practice jumps, stunts and tumbling, and work on formations. Each day 

is filled with spirit and teamwork, and builds toward our big performance on Friday at 

Camp J’s Got Talent! 

TENNIS CAMP at Windermere Prep 

Monday-Friday: $275/week, Monday/Wednesday/Friday: $175/week 

The Tennis Academy at Windermere Preparatory School is the place 

to be for summer tennis! Experienced coaches are on-hand to give 

children of any age or ability a week of tennis, fun, games, activities 

and option of lifeguard-supervised swimming at our world-class facility. 

Private and semi-private lessons and clinics are also available throughout

Creative Contraption Warning! Each day, campers will be given a series 

of challenges and, with a little bit of ingenuity, construct catapults and 

forts, fabricate innovative flying contraptions, design their own gizmo prototypes, and 

even assemble a working light saber to take home! 

Super Spy Academy 


Learn what it takes to be a spy and a forensic scientist! Uncover the science involved 

in evidence gathering and analysis in this hands-on view of the science that spies use. 

Recreate the scene of a crime using clues and detailed observations, and even make 

your own fingerprint, secret safe, and spy gear to take home! Daily rate available, $70/day 

($60 JCC members) 

iBrickAcademy LEGO CAMP 


Our Robocamps teach and train programming, building, troubleshooting and the art and 

science behind being a true robotics engineer. The camp features the LEGO® Mindstorm 

NXT Robotics and/or LEGO® Mindstorm EV3 sets, with a curriculum from LEGO® 

Education and drawing from 20+ years of robotics teaching, training and curriculum 

development for schools and various departments of education across the US.

Theatre South Drama Camps

THE DESCENDING ROYALS 


Calling all Villains and Royals! Join us as we pay tribute to some descending royals and dive 

into the infamous battle of good vs. evil. We’ll audition, rehearse, sing, dance, and perform 

a final show themed around our favorite new high school with just a little bit of evil on the 

side. Auditions will be held on the first day of camp.* Grades K-2 will be in our Junior Royals 

Unit. 

VIRAL VIDEO STAR 

Grades 1-12, June 27-July 1, $345 ($295 JCC members) 

Come learn the cool world of making movies for YouTube and other social media platforms. 

Campers will participate in script writing, directing, acting, filming, and of course uploading! 

This camp will also teach smart and safe internet protocols. Parents can join us for our 

Actor’s Playback session on Friday at 3pm. 

PRINCESS BOOT CAMP 


Once upon a time, there was a magical theater camp completely devoted to all things 

royal! Workshops include etiquette training, manners, castle singing and dancing, royal 

waving and kiss blowing, princess makeovers, and Princess Kindness 101. All princesses are 

encouraged to dress in royal attire daily. Join us for our Royal Showing at 2pm on Friday.

PITCH PERFECT TEEN CAMP 

Grades 4-12, July 5-8, $275 ($230 JCC members) 

Release your inner pop star in this one-week 

intensive vocal camp. We’ll audition, rehearse, 

and perform our very own rock concert, jampacked 

with our favorite pop hits of today and the 

past. Our cast will participate in daily acting, voice and movement 

workshops with vocal professionals while rehearsing for the Final 

Performance on Friday at 3:30pm. Some younger students will be 

accepted upon ability and experience. 

JOURNEY TO OZ 


Come journey with us for to the magical worlds of Broadway’s 

The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz, and Wicked in this one-week intensive 

musical theater camp. This camp includes auditions, rehearsals, and 

a final performance on Friday at 3pm. Directed by our professional 

teaching artists and musical directors. Note: Auditions will be held 

Sunday, July 24 at 3pm.* Please prepare a short song from the show. 

Grades K-2 will be in our Junior Munchkin Unit. 

CAMP GREASE 


This summer, Grease is the word! Join us as we pay tribute to 

Broadway and film’s most beloved 1950’s musical, Grease! This camp 

includes auditions, rehearsals, and a final performance on Friday 

at 3pm. Directed by our professional teaching artists and musical 

directors. Note: Auditions will be held Sunday, August 7 at 3pm.* 

Please prepare a short song from the show. Grades K-2 will be in our 

Junior Greasers Unit. 

*Auditions are only required for performers interested in leading roles. 

All programs run 9 am - 4 pm with daily WaterZone! All 

materials fees are included.

Tweens & Teens 

Camp J Pioneers 

An elective program for tweens and teens 

Campers in grades 4-8 have their own special program at Camp J! Campers choose 

a specialty activity on Monday morning, and spend half of each day that week 

immersed in that program area. This gives our older campers a chance to choose the 

program they like, and have more time to explore that area of interest. The Pioneers 

program operates every week there is General Camp. 

There are always multiple elective track options, and they may vary from week to week. 

Weekly elective options may include:

Campers in grades 4-8 also go on some different field trips, specially geared toward

Counselors-In-Training 

Grades 9-10 

Session I: June 20-July 8, $375 ($300 JCC members) 

Session II: July 11-August 5, $500 ($400 JCC members) 

Our counselor-in-training (CIT) program prepares our former campers to work at camp. 

CITs participate in workshops to learn child care and leadership skills and gain valuable 

experience working as part of a team to plan and execute camp activities. 

Space in our CIT program is limited, and candidates are selected following an interview. 

CITs must be available to work for a full session (see dates above) and attend a presummer 

orientation day. CITs will receive a stipend ($150 for Session I, $200 for Session 

II) based upon attendance and successful completion of the program.

At Camp J, our campers 

are always on the 

move, and we know 

that they need fuel to 

keep them going! For 

lunch, parents have 

the option of either 

sending a packed lunch 

or purchasing lunch, 

snacks and ice cream 

from our “canteen”. Canteen lunches, snacks 

and ice cream are purchased in advance on a 

weekly basis, or may be paid for on a daily basis 

in cash.

during lunch time, we provide all campers with 

a nutritious, kid-friendly snack in the afternoon 

to keep them moving! 

In accordance with the JCC’s “kosher-style” 

policy, lunches may not contain pork or 

shellfish, and may not mix meat and dairy 

products. In addition, the JCC is a “nut aware” 

facility, and foods containing peanut or tree 

nut ingredients are not allowed. We thank 

you for helping to keep our facility safe and 

comfortable for all of the members of our 

community!

Registering in advance has its benefits: 

Secure your camper’s space in your preferred program. 

Last summer, many programs and age groups filled up 

and we had to close registration! 

Avoid late fees and long lines on Monday morning! 

Plan your family’s schedule now so you can relax and 

enjoy the summer. 

Policies & Fees 

• To register for a program, tuition must be paid in full. 

• Camp tuition includes all programs, materials, trips and snacks. Lunch 

service is available for an additional fee. For some field trips, a lunch fee 

may be required. 

• Families with multiple children will receive a 3% discount on tuition after 

the first child. Discount will be applied to the child or children with the 

lowest fees. 

• Registrations may be changed to switch programs or weeks for a $25 

administrative fee per week per camper, plus any 

difference in cost. 

• Registrations may be canceled up to two weeks prior 

to the start of the program; refunds will be credited 

to your JCC account minus a $25 administrative fee per 

week per camper. 

• Registrations received after Thursday at 6 pm for the 

following week will incur a $25 late fee.
