OPERATIONAL PROCESSES � NRSW commands may elect to provide Arrive Alive cards to reservists serving under extended orders, but must use discretion to prevent unauthorized or excessive use. � Members of the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Coast Guard are NOT authorized to use the Arrive Alive cards. � If non-navy/unauthorized personnel redeem cards for any reason, the serialized card will be verified and tracked back to the command designated POC for immediate action.
OPERATIONAL FINDINGS � Service members are routinely using the Arrive Alive program as their primary means of transportation rather than using it as a last resort. � Service members are utilizing the Arrive Alive program even though they have NOT driven their vehicle or have NOT exhausted alternative means of transportation. � Command designated POCs are not being notified when a card is lost, stolen, or used by its service members. � NRSW is incurring DUIs even though service members have an Arrive Alive card (have chosen not to use it when other means of transportation has failed). � <strong>The</strong>re have been occurrences of Arrive Alive card abuse (i.e. multiple destination stops by cab drivers, trips outside of San Diego Metro area of responsibility.)
