HOP, FROM THE STREETS
TO WALL STREET The
commercialism of the genre has made
Hip Hop not just something for the
black community to call their own, but a
melody that touches the lives of the
masses, speaks to the hearts of the
world. There is one thing has remained
a constant conciliate in urban culture,
the love and healing power of music.

We would like to extend our sincere
thanks to PC URBAN subscribers whose
faithful support has made our first
quarter a success. PC URBAN is not just another
magazine publication, it's a cause. I created
Phenomenal City Urban Magazine to provide a
platform to the urban community to display their
works, products, share their passions, pursue their
dreams and tell their stories. I believe there are
phenomenal stories all across this country, waiting
to be discovered. And that's what I seek to explore
with each and every issue. Through the release of
every publication, I am blessed to meet amazing
individuals who have the most extraordinary
stories to share. I've met mothers, cancer survivors,
entreprenuers, artists, cosmetic companies,
producers, fashion designers, photographers, war
heros, celebrities and so much more.
"PC Urban Magazine is not just
way the world viewed my
PC Urban Commentator
Travis Ellison speaks with
Hip Hop Artist Alexander
Grand on his career in the
industry and what he
attributes to his unique
lyrica style.
Alexander Grand was Born n Raised in
Jacksonville, FL. His first musical influence
was his oldest brother. Grand's mother
listened to Music all the time around the
house, but it was his Brother that inspired his first
interest in actually being a Musical Artist. "I made
My First Attempt at Rapping at the Age of 23 when
My Brother got some Music Equipment to Work on
being a Producer. My Style is described as Fluid in
the Sense that My Flow is Adjusted based on the
Vibe of the Beat. Content wise I like to Focus on
Reality n Real Life Issues that Society Faces.I
wouldn't say My Style was "Developed" as much as
ut was Honed. I try to bring Who I am as a Person to
a Track n Relay the Information through My Lyrical
Content." "Positive Message" is a Selective Term as
what is Considered "Positive" is Different Based on
Who is Asked. I do however try to bring a Certain
"Positive Vibes" to any Song I Work on.
When People Hear My Music I want them to Walk
away Inspired to Learn while still feeling
Entertained.I Consider myself Different from most
Artists because I like to Create Music that Inspires
People to look within in order to effect the World
around them. I think the Terms "Rap" Artist n "Hip-
Hop" Artist have been Developed to cause Division
within the Culture. Rap is a Small Part of the Hip-
Hop Movement. Therefore I consider Myself a Rap
Artist within the Hip-Hop Movement. Hip-Hop has
Changed in its Current State but Evolution is a Part
of Life n Evolution Requires Change. I Represent
One Small Part of the Hip-Hop Movement. Hip-Hop
is Vast n ever-growing an can'r be Defined by ONE
Category of Artist or People. Hip-Hop is DEFINITELY
a way of Life. It was Created as a Representation of
Life in Urban America.

HIP HOP ARTIST, ALEXANDER GRAND
" I Plan on Adding to the Culture by Returning the Attention of Rap Music back toward Enlightenment as a
Society. In the 4 Years I've been Dedicated to Music I have One Mixtape and an Album in the Works as well as
Multiple 'Rap Battles'. I have done 3 Shows in Addition to 4 Rap Battles. I'm not Signed to a Label but would be
willing to Discuss a Distribution Deal or Recording Contract Depending on the Parameters of the Deal. I think the
Digital Age of Music is Vital in Today's World of Technology. At the End of the Day I just want to be Remembered as
a Motivator n Inspiration Musically n Socially. I have no Specific Level of Impact I Desire to Attain. It only takes One
Person to Inspire Change. I make Music for that One. As long as I Impact ONE Person I've Potentially Impacted the
World.
INSIDE: A DIVA'S TAKEOVER
Lupita Ruiz first made her acting debut in
the feature film "Tumbling The Movie"
where she portrayed "Carmen," the bitter
wife of a powerful drug lord. She's now
taking her acting career to new levels in
the hot new original sereis, "A Diva's
Takeover," which depicts the story behind
the making of PC Urban Magazine.
The thing I enjoyed the most about working with
the cast and crew of, "A Diva's Takeover," was all
the shoots. I loved dressing up and getting to
know different people, from different cultures. To
me, that's fun. Anything that is fun, I'm willing to
try it once. I think people will like A Diva's
Takeover because it's something new, a new era.
It's so much new talent in the series and each and
everyone of them were easy to work with."
Lupita has been modeling for years but is excited
to be taking her modeling career into a new genre
of acting. She's currently working as a
spokesperson on a Las Vegas Spanish network and
is currently studying acting to future expand her
talents. "I want to learn as much as possible, and
work with different people in the industry. I've
found a new love in acting and I'm excited to see
where this journey will lead me. So far, I'm having
the time of my life.
Lupita Ruiz is a model actress who resides in Las Vegas,
Nevada. Her modeling portfolio has taken her across the
country working with some of the popular brands. She was
first spotted by The House of PC during the production of the
feature film, "Tumbling The Movie," in which she portrayed
the bitter wife of a powerful drug lord.
DEONDRA GRADY:
A Diva's Takeover was
actually born off of the
idea of PC Urban
Magazine. To display the
entertainment, fashion
and business industry
through a multi-media
portal. (RADIO, TV,
MAGAZINE)
BEHIND THE
SCENES:
The series A Diva's Takeover was an exciting and new
opportunity for McMorries Winters Production to venture into a
new genre of film, "television." We asked co-producer, Brandon
McMorries", what it was like transitioning from feature film to
television. "It was definitely something new for us. I think there's
a lot that goes into it when you're doing film initially. Rather it's a
feature or short. Our first project was a feature film so there was a
lot that went into the preliminary work of getting the film
prepped for production. The tv show," McMorries admits, "has a
lot of simplicity to it. It's very structured in a certain format. I
definitely enjoy both, there are pros and cons to each one. But at
the end of the day they both turned our very nice."
CAST OF A DIVA'S
TAKEOVER
We spoke with the cast of the series to hear what they had to say
about their experience working with THEHOUSEOFPC on the hot new
original series. Here are some of their comments:
LUPITA: Working with them was an amazing experience. I got the
opportunity to work with them on Tumbling The Movie. I was at the
premier in Panama City and it was amazing. They take you under
your wing and teach you to do better with yourself. I’d love to work
with them again.
SHAND' THE MODEL: It was such a pleasure working with The House
of PC. They definitely work one on one with you to make you put
forth your best work. I feel like I’ve grown so much as an artist and an
actress after working with them.
TEDDY: I love portraying
different alter egos. I'm
like five foot tall with a
ten foot personality. i
love to captivate the
room. That's why
working on A Diva's
Takeover was such a
joyous experience. I
enjoy playing the guy
everyone loves to hate.

The PRODUCERS OF
TUMBLING THE MOVIE
AND A DIVA'S TAKEOVER
want to offer a sincere
thanks to everyone who
helped in the creation of
these projects. "We really
want to express a deep
thank you...any success
that we have, we
definitely don't forget the
people who have helped
alone the way even if
you'd done the little
ON THE SET: OF A
DIVA'S TAKEOVER
PRODUCER BRANDON MCMORIES describes working with the cast of
A Diva's Takeover as a great experience. "It was great working with
such a diverse cast.," says McMorries. "We had a lot of different
type of people in the series. That's something we try to be
conscious of in every project. We don't want to just cater to one
realm of people. Diversity is our driving factor when casting for a
McMorries Winters Production. It makes for a very dynamic cast.
So it was great meeting a lot of different people. We were able to
blend and work with a lot of different acting styles. We had a lot of
different characters in there. And that's really something that we
really try to highlight on in all our projects."
New Web Series Coming This Spring
A new web series hits the market this summer and it's sure to leave
audiences begging for more. A Divas Takeover: The House of PC
chronicles the lives of five models as they pursue their dreams of
superstardom. Two owners must make some tough decisions as they
struggle to reimage their magazine for expansion. Lies, envy and
deceit come between the models as they battle one another in a war
to become the new face of The House of PC. In the end, only one of
them will win that title. Watch as the drama unfolds in this fashion
forward original series.

A Diva's Takeover:
Series
We sat with the creator of the series and
asked the concept of the film. "(A Divas
Takeover) is a walking billboard to showcase
music, film, product placement, entertainment,
fashion and so much more. It was a brilliant
marketing strategy to help bring exposure to
myself and other independent artists." Lyric
Raines is not only the Director of Photography
for the series, she also wrote, produced,
directed and edited the series as well. When
asked what inspired the film she admits, "We
worked on our feature film Tumbling for five
years and through that process we gained a
huge fan base who had anticipated the release
for years. And now that the movie is in the
festival circuit we wanted to bring life back to
the film so we thought what better way to
introduce the film than through a multi-media
portal that could bring attention to everything
we've been working so hard on? And thus, 'The
House of PC was born.
The show was filmed in multiple cities across the
state of Florida including Tampa, Orlando,
Jacksonville and Panama City to name a few. A
diverse cast of actors and models credits the
film's unique beauty and wide marketability.
Cultures across the globe including Arabian,
Mexican, Asian, European, African-American
and more came together to contributed to its
high fashion edge. high fashion edge.
high fashion edge. "I was blessed to work with
people who believed in my vision and worked
diligently to see it come to past." Said Raines.
The film is set to be released in early June 2015.
Raines is also the recipient of The Lady Flava first
annual Award for best filmmaker. "I have several
other projects in the works, a short film called
Abigail which is a fun mixture of film and
animation and a horror film we want to shoot
next year."
I
t’s simple. I drink H20 and lemon ginger tea. It’s
important to get as much rest as possible. I like to
get at least 8 hours of sleep per night. For my hair,
because I live in Florida, the temperature can be
very humid. So when I get out the shower, I rub
nutrient-rich Coconut Oil curl cream into my hair.
I find that it works best while my hair is damp to
get the best curl results. For my face I exfoliate
with St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub to get
a nice smooth texture. After cleansing, I apply
Clinique dramatically different moisturizing lotion
to clarify my skin. The cream leaves my face
feeling great, and it also makes it easier to apply
makeup. I find that every woman of color should
always use a blush bronzer. They say your teeth is
the window to your health. And a woman is most
beautiful when she smiles. For my teeth, I always
brush and floss two times a day and never miss
my dental appointments. For my body, I always
use Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy stress relief
body lotion. I rub the moisturizer all over my
body. Not only does it smell great but it leaves my
body feeling calm and stress-free. I also do a lot of
meditation to relieve daily stress, and balance my
energy. It’s important always to smile and laugh.
It’s good for you. But most importantly beauty is
within. You only live once, so enjoy it and always
live life to the fullest. Always take the chances and
risk without the regrets. Be selfless, be kind, be
humble, and surround yourself with positive
energy. As a result, you will feel more beautiful.
Remember confidence is key.
"There are a lot of reasons to be
thankful, why not give back to the
community. Attend a charity to
take care of the city. At the end of
the day, your heart will be filled
with a lot more love."

EVOLUTION OF HIP HOP
F r o m T h e S t r e e t s , T o W a l l S t r e e t
"The commercialism of the genre has made Hip Hop not just
something for the black community to call their own, but a
melody that touches the lives of the masses, speaks to the
hearts of the world. There has always been one thing that's
remained a constant conciliate in the urban community, the love
and healing power of music"
From the backs of slaves to poverty
stricken streets, the black community has
faced challenges in every way you can image.
But one thing has remained a constant
conciliate in urban culture, the love and
healing power of music. It is through music
that we’ve found our voices, from old age
hymns telling the times of struggle and long,
hard days at work, to poetic rhymes spit from
the mouths of some of the most talented and
prolific speakers of our times.
Hip Hop was born out of a need for peace,
love, unity and safely having fun. These
principles of life gave hope to a community
lost, betrayed by a government who flooded
their streets with Heroin. Afrika Bambaataa
founder of the Zulu Nation saw the art of Hip
Hop as a way to cleanse the youth and give
them voice, a way of life. With guns flooding
the streets and drugs pouring into our
communities, gang violence, Afrika Bambaataa
saw the art as a health expression. In early
years, Hip Hop was the voice of a community
who had previously been ignored, discarded
and left forgotten. Through strong lyrical
expressions of police brutality to violent
reminders of the reality faced on harsh urban
streets, Hip Hop told the stories that had long
been untold.
When legendary groups like NWA began to
bring their art into other areas of business, Hip
Hop became much more than an artform, but a
way to own a piece of the American Dream.
But as the genre has changed and evolved over
the years, many believe that the origins of Hip
Hop are no longer prevalent in today’s Popular
Rap music.
Rather than speaking on the origins of the
genre, love, unity and safely having fun,
today's Rap is more of an expression of
sexual exploits, indulgence in drugs and
alcohol, spending money and advocating
what many would call, disrepect for women.
Some may say, Hip Hop has lost it's way. But
as Underground artists continue to stay true
to origins of the genre, new audiences are
learning the culture every day.
As artists such as Jay Z, Dr Dre and Ice Cube
take their Hip Hop brands into Corporate
America creating brands in every industry
from Beats by Dre, Hollywood Films such as
Boyz In da Hood, Barber Shop and , Straight
Outta Compton. From restaurants and
Football teams to dinners in the White
House, Wall Street has notice of the chance
to capitalize from the worldwide fascination
of the culture. The commercialism of the
genre has made Hip Hop not just something
for the black community to call their own, but
a melody that touches the lives of the
masses, speaks to the hearts of the world. As
Corporate America continues to create
jingles and popular commercials to promote
their brand, Hip Hop proves itself as a viable
commodity, proving that Hip Hop is a
powerful force that’s here to stay.
FILM
AN INDIE REVIEW OF
UPCOMING FILMS
A DIVA'S TAKEOVER A new web series hits the
market this summer and it's sure to leave audiences
begging for more. A Divas Takeover: The House of PC
chronicles the lives of five models as they pursue their
dreams of super-stardom. Two owners must make
some tough decisions as they struggle to re-image
their magazine for expansion. Lies, envy and deceit
come between the models as they battle one another
in a war to become the new face of The House of PC.
In the end, only one of them will win that title. Watch
as the drama unfolds in this fashion forward original
series. The series A Diva's Takeover was an exciting
and new opportunity for McMorries Winters
Production to venture into a new genre of film,
television."
We asked co-producer, Brandon McMorries, what it
was like transitioning from feature film to television. "It
was definitely something new for us. I think there's a
lot that goes into it when you're doing film initially.
Rather it's a feature or a short film. Our first project was
a feature film so there was a lot that went into the preliminary
work of getting the film prepped for
production. The tv show," McMorries admits, "has a lot
of simplicity to it. It's very structured in a certain
format. I definitely enjoy both, there are pros and cons
to each one. But at the end of the day they both turned
our very nice."

TUMBLING THE MOVIE, THE DIRECTOR'S
CUT PRODUCER BRANDON MCMORIES
describes working with the cast of
TUMBLING THE MOVIE as a great
experience. "It was great working with
such a diverse cast.," says McMorries. "We
had a lot of different type of people in
the film That's something we try to be
conscious of in every project. We don't
want to just cater to one realm of people.
Diversity is our driving factor when
casting for a McMorries Winters
Production. It makes for a very dynamic
cast. So it was great meeting a lot of
different people. We were able to blend
and work with a lot of different acting
styles. We had a lot of different
characters in there. And that's really
something that we really try to highlight
on in all our projects."
WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO MAKE A CASTLE FALL? They were just four men, each with his own skill
reaching for a common goal. Four guys with a dream quickly turning that dream into a reality. K.O.
the leader, Styles his right hand man, Dough the Runner and Zeek the Enforcer. But when one man's
quest for revenge threatens the very nature of their bond, allies become enemies and friendships are
broken. Forever. COMING SOON! Writer/Director BROOKLYNN WINTERS says, "Tumbling has always
been a labor of love from the very first day we started casting. It has been the largest scale project
we've done to date and I can't be happier with the product we've created. It's been something fans
have been waiting for, but we're confident it's well worth the wait.
THE CAST OF TUMBLING We spoke with the cast of
the film to hear what they had to say about their
experience working on Tumbling. Here are some
of their comments. LUPITA RUIZ Working with
them was an amazing experience. It was
amazing. They take you under your wing and
teach you to do better with yourself. MONIQUE
WILBURN They definitely work one on one with
you to make you put forth your best work. I feel
like I’ve grown so much as an artist and an actress
after working with them.
