SUMMIT
PC Urban Commentator
Travis Ellison speaks with
Hip Hop Artist Alexander
Grand on his career in the
industry and what he
attributes to his unique
lyrica style.
Alexander Grand was Born n Raised in
Jacksonville, FL. His first musical influence
was his oldest brother. Grand's mother
listened to Music all the time around the
house, but it was his Brother that inspired his first
interest in actually being a Musical Artist. "I made
My First Attempt at Rapping at the Age of 23 when
My Brother got some Music Equipment to Work on
being a Producer. My Style is described as Fluid in
the Sense that My Flow is Adjusted based on the
Vibe of the Beat. Content wise I like to Focus on
Reality n Real Life Issues that Society Faces.I
wouldn't say My Style was "Developed" as much as
ut was Honed. I try to bring Who I am as a Person to
a Track n Relay the Information through My Lyrical
Content." "Positive Message" is a Selective Term as
what is Considered "Positive" is Different Based on
Who is Asked. I do however try to bring a Certain
"Positive Vibes" to any Song I Work on.
When People Hear My Music I want them to Walk
away Inspired to Learn while still feeling
Entertained.I Consider myself Different from most
Artists because I like to Create Music that Inspires
People to look within in order to effect the World
around them. I think the Terms "Rap" Artist n "Hip-
Hop" Artist have been Developed to cause Division
within the Culture. Rap is a Small Part of the Hip-
Hop Movement. Therefore I consider Myself a Rap
Artist within the Hip-Hop Movement. Hip-Hop has
Changed in its Current State but Evolution is a Part
of Life n Evolution Requires Change. I Represent
One Small Part of the Hip-Hop Movement. Hip-Hop
is Vast n ever-growing an can'r be Defined by ONE
Category of Artist or People. Hip-Hop is DEFINITELY
a way of Life. It was Created as a Representation of
Life in Urban America.
