Ared carpet welcome, an Alice in Wonderland
theme, a sumptuous banquet and the prospect of
picking up a prestigious trophy: the 2016 Bristol
& Somerset Wedding Awards drew hundreds of
sparkling partygoers to the Bristol Hotel in February.
The high profile event, run by and in aid of the Wedding
Wishing Well Foundation, recognised wedding specialists
who provide outstanding service and always go the extra
mile for their brides.
And the organisers made sure that, on this occasion, they
went the extra mile for their guests. A starlit
banqueting suite, creatively decorated, entertainment
– including a specially written playlet – delicious food
and fine wines all combined to make a most
memorable evening. And it raised a whopping
£4,340 for the charity which organises weddings for
people with life-limiting or terminal illnesses.
Organiser and founder of The Wedding Wishing
Well foundation, Naomi Thomas, said: ‘The awards
dinner is for everyone in the industry who wishes to
attend. We feel they are all winners, working
tirelessly to do their best for each couple and they all
deserve to be celebrated and made to feel special.’
Dream Weddings magazine is delighted to be a sponsor of
the awards and director Helen Johnson was thrilled with
the number and quality of the entries.
She said: ‘All of these professionals usually take a back
seat, ensuring the bride is the star of her own wedding
show – it’s great to see them enjoying the limelight on their
own special night. And, of course, the prestige they gain
from being in the finals is a great help for future business.’
It could be YOU in 2017!
The search for the 2017 Bristol & Somerset Wedding Awards winners starts at the end of May, so if you’re one
of those businesses which offers that extra very special something to brides, keep an eye on the website and
get your name down.
The competition has been carefully thought out so large and small companies can compete on a equal footing
and finalists are chosen purely on votes from brides.
There’s a trophy, of course, for each winner - but perhaps more importantly, there’s the prestige of being able to
display the winner or finalist logo on all your advertising and literature.
